Otome Game Review: School Wars

Ichijou Shiori’s father is died in a car accident and her mother is sick and hospitalized. Being tight on funds, Shiori was rejected from her high school because she couldn’t afford to pay for it. However luck came her way and she got a scholarship to Seiron Academy and became the chairman of the public morals committee in her 3rd year. On top of this her mother was allowed to transfer to a fancy hospital for better treatment. Unfortunately there’s a catch which is to take military training and uphold the peace now that Seiron Academy and the wealthy Suzushiro Academy have merged. The students  are at war with each other ever since 3 years earlier, Suzushiro burned down one of Seiron’s school buildings and now it’s happened again. The student council president lures her into finding out the criminal behind it and desperate for money she agrees. However, she quickly learns the best way to win is to SLEEP with the enemy (✧≖‿ゝ≖). Too bad for Shiori, she’s spent so much of her life trying to survive, that she’s a tad behind in the romance department. Continue reading “Otome Game Review: School Wars”

Otome Game Review: Confidential Money ~How to Earn $30 Million in 300 Days~

Happy Halloween! Natalie Taylor is your average 17 year old high school girl…in NEW YORK CITY YEAAAA! So since this game takes place in my city, it was a must play on my list. \( ^o^)/ Natalie’s mom LIZ Taylor is a ho who runs around bars and gets with random ikemens. Liz’s bff is a super flaming fashion designer Charles and her father is a rich corporate douchebag who steals money from other companies! Poor Natalie is stuck between 2 relatives neither of who really give a crap about her. Deciding she wants to be more independent, she works many part time jobs but it’s just not enough. She then jumps on a bandwagon to join a group of guys who have a plan to earn $30 million and split between the 6 of them (+7th guy who joins in at a later time.) All the guys in this group have various reasons for why they need the money and they call themselves CM7 ( Confidential Money + 7 people. ) Unfortunately for Natalie, their plan involves stealing money from her douchebag grandpa on the 4th of July.

Otome Game Review: Shin Hisui no Shizuku -Hiiro no Kakera 2-

So I left HNK2 for last because I feel like it’s the bastard child of the whole series. The only thing it has going for it is Kazuki Yone is still the artist for it but the characters are different, the seiyuus are different, and the entire Tamayorihime story is twisted in such a weird way that I wonder what they were thinking then they made it. Well they realized the ORIGINAL was a massive failure so actually this is in fact a remake of the Hisui no Shizuku (hence the 真) because apparently they remade all the chars personalities and for some reason kicked off the HNK1 cast off the face of the earth. I’m not about to extend my hiiro marathon and play the original for comparison so you’ll just have to satisfy yourselves with the remake review XD. So this time we have a good girl Suzu (similar to Saya from HNK4). Her mother is the Tamayorihime but she says soon the Ryujin (Dragon God) seal will break and Suzu will be the next in line for the Tamayorihime duties. One rainy night the seal does break and her mother Ayako indeed goes to seal it, sacrificing her life in the process. On top of this, the spirit of the Toyotamahime, who just so happens to be the older sister of the original Tamayorihime (that we never knew) escapes and possesses Suzu’s older sister Mao. So now the village has a half broken seal with demons running around everywhere and Suzu’s gotta train to seal it up. If that wasn’t bad enough, Toyotamahime-Mao comes and tells Suzu that she hated Tamayorihime (Marsha Marsha Marsha!) and wants her to die while fully breaking the seal so she can get the rest of her powers back. Suzu’s like “k sure I’ll die as long as my mans are alive” but Suzu’s childhood friend and guardian Akira won’t be havin’ any of that. Additionally, in HNK2, the guardians are humans and are not gods with inner animal powers. They fight with weapons which they are able to pull out of thin air (lol) if their bond with Suzu is strong enough thanks to the Magatama powers. This also means that if the bond weakens, they will be completely useless bums so Suzu’s got a lot on her plate. With the help of her loli neko guardians Sana & Kana, and manharem (+1 sarcastic token bff chick) she’s got to get her sister back to normal and save Japan! Otome Game Review: Double Reaction! Plus

No opening movie because official site is gone and it’s lost forever in the black hole of the internet

I must be high to play another game by Datam/Polystar after this disaster but CURIOSITY GOT THE BEST OF ME. 😆  Our heroine Yuri, who is a rabid yaoi fangirl, is pissed off that she’s not as good looking as her twin brother Kairi. They find a wishing stone and then Yuri picks it up wishing she was a sexy beast…but then she drops the stone and breaks it. About 18 days later, on September 1st she starts her new school life with Kairi, but one morning they find that stone she broke back on top of her bed. When Yuri touches the stone, she and her brother end up switching bodies (:.o゚з゚o:.).:∵ぶっ While her brother isn’t too happy being a girl, our heroine Yuri can’t wait to spend her time being a bishounen and yaoi it up with some dudes. The body switching seems to be on and off and so the twins’ adventures begin!

Otome Game Review: Vitamin X to Z

So concluding my Vitamin Tour will be the fandisk for both Vitamin X AND Z! That’s right D3P decided to shove everyone together into one game and throw it on to the PSP! The good news is since both games have already been ported to the PSP this included adjusting some of the stand in pics for X as well as adding new ones in. The game came out this year so the artist has significantly leveled up and so the CGs were quite pleasant to look at. Best part of all – each guy’s route is only 4 chapters and *gasp* NO STUPID EXAMS! Yippie! The story takes place “in the middle” of the scenario of the original X & Z games but the endings then take place AFTER the endings of X&Z. Basically the gang of X go to a winter lodge for a week before new years while the Z gang then go visit the same vacation house in the summer along with GTR, Kagetora & Kamijou + the bears. Both Yuri & Manami are in イケメン heaven as they get to いちゃこら while enjoying a relaxing time in the hotsprings or going wild at the summer festival.
