I guess now that all the fujoshis have moved on to Osomatsu-san, the Broccoli fujobait wagon has lost its fuel and so in a desperate attempt to make money, they decided to try and please their otome fans once more. With this they released UtaPri music 3, which is actually a lot like Music 1 but more Cero A~ish because the randyness of the original UtaPri game has been lost somewhere along the way. Unfortunately for anyone who has played the previous 2 music games, there’s nothing new in store for you so this is just more of the same. More after the jump!
Wow this game was…something else but more on that in my final thoughts. ಠ_ಠ Our heroine Mochizuki Nao is blasted to the past of the Edo era at the bakumatsu period when they’re about to overthrow the shogun. She gets picked up by a historical bishie who brings her to Manjiya, a prostitute house where the geiko ladies can service men but without having to actually spread their legs. Guess it must be a high class one. ＼(^o^)／ Even though she starts working in the back, all the guys there suggest she start working “in the front” to service all the male customers instead. Without any second thoughts, Nao’s like SURE THANG and so begin her exciting adventures in semi-prostitution. Warning: Terrible writing and landmine tropes ahead! I wasn’t gonna review this but somehow during my commute to work the last few weeks I ended up unlocking every song in the game so I figured why not! Since this is just a music game there’s not really any spoilers so feel free to read on!
Storm Lover 2nd is as you can see a sequel to Storm Lover/Storm Lover Kai!! This time however it features a new heroine and a new set of guys, with the exception of Nanao Shiina from the previous games. Our heroine Arashiyama Mari, has just moved to town and starts her 2nd year of high school at St. Louis High. Continue reading “Otome Game Review: Storm Lover 2nd”
So I ran a backlog poll on my blog a few weeks ago and All Star was the top choice so while waiting for my Amnesia Crowd to arrive I figured it would be a good way to kill a week. Surprisingly the game took longer than a week but ultimately – I REGRET NOTHING. Those who read my Debut review may remember my SCATHING words towards UtaPri and Broccoli and the many tables that were flipped during broadcast. Fortunately, Broccoli listened to their reviews on Amazon, kicked out all the fanfic writers and had Mr. Crazy Goat handle the storyline this time around. With this, the game went back to being a fun game about a hard working music composer and the idols she composes songs for. Our story this time is Haruka has no partner and she ended up graduating all on her own efforts (fuck yea screw those men Haruka you don’t need them!) She wasn’t able to take the master course cause all the guys were busy BLing up with each other and leaving her forever alone. Haruka’s new job is to compose a song for the Christmas concert featuring the special shuffle unit with the 4 senpais: Reiji, Ranmaru, Ai and Camus. In addition, after this she must partner up with one of them and compose a song to enter into the music festival competition. If she does not win the competition she will not be able to debut and will be kicked out of the agency.
