Akari has been living alone most of her life due to being an orphan. One day during a solar eclipse, she’s sucked into another world called Shangrila where it’s eternally night and no signs of daylight. The elders find out and say she’s the “Liar Moon” from the prophecy who will save Shangrila and return the daylight to them. Unfortunately nobody actually knows how to do this… except Fenrir and his brothers who know that in order to get the sun back, the Liar Moon has to sacrifice her life. And as fate would have it, Fenrir is the first person Akari runs into and becomes friendly with. Additionally, Akari also has the powers to see people’s past simply by looking at the reflection of the moon in a body of water. This leads her to discover the truth about everything in Shangrila. So since Amnesia was licensed in English by Idea Factory and released on Steam, once it came on sale for like 90% off I finally convinced
Kentmy husband to buy and play it. And well since we used to blog anime together I figured why not have him review it? Although after reading his thoughts, I think I might have made a grave mistake ಠ_ಠ. If you dare to read his review (aka making fun of the game) please follow after the jump! If the reactions from my readers aren’t too horrifying, then maybe I’ll have him write up a review for the Norn 9 Aksys port that I’m forcing him to play. Also for the most part, it’s non spoiler but it does contain CGs from the game.
So I didn’t intend to play this when it came out a year ago but I found it on sale while I was in Japan and was like well why not? Turns out it was actually a worthwhile purchase for me. I played this solely during my commute which is why it took me almost 2 months to complete but I enjoyed it none the less. The game begins with our heroine (who will forever be known as Mary Sue on this blog) once again having no memories as she’s transported through different “worlds”. Pretty much brief summaries ahead and not much of a spoiler so feel free to read on everything except Second World which actually has the true spoiler of the game.
Decided to catch up on some old backlog and realized I still never played this fandisk! I’m glad I picked it up since it really reminded me of how much fun the GHP team is and well now I’m really looking forward to their upcoming game (Trigger Kiss). Anyway the FD is split into a few sections – vacation trip, after story, 3P routes, side story and a story for Satsuki. For the vacation trip, because Kyoko was busy training her heart last summer she missed out on her high school summer activities. Her friend offers her special tickets to a private island resort and worried about her heart Kyoko wants to refuse….but Satsuki grabs them and says THIS YO CHANCE GUUURL. And so Kyoko and all her mans fly down for some hot summer events by the sea. The after stories are events immediately following the endings of the first game.
Yaotome Rei is about to start her first year of high school but she didn’t get into the school she wanted. The reason is her middle school senpais wasted her time with studying too much or slacking off too much and she ended up failing all her entrance exams. The only school that accepts her is a school that takes in the most disappointing students in all of Japan. Rei decides she’ll try her best anyway until she finds out that the school’s gonna be shut down mid year because the principal is also an idiot 😆 The principal says that the only way to save the school from getting shut down is to…..fall in love! By showing that the school is full of raburabu couples, apparently they will get a large sum of money (probably because Japan’s birth rate is abysmally low www). Now it’s up to Rei to find the man of her dreams, but unfortunately she only has a bunch of losers to choose from.
