Otome Game Review: Lover Pretend

After being in limbo for several years post announcement, Otomate decided to bring this game back from the dead with a seemingly completely new staff. Unfortunately it did not go as planned and frankly did not go as I had imagined. So keep in mind the fact that I thought this game was terrible and boring which is why it took me a month and a half to slog through it while constantly taking breaks to play other games. Our heroine, Chiyuki wants to be a script writer like her deceased mother but she has no idea who her father ever was. However, her mother left her clues that he was one of the actors in the famous drama script her mother wrote called “Pretend to Love”. Now in her 3rd year in college, Chiyuki has a chance to do some assistant work with a movie and she meets the children of the actors who were in Pretend to Love. In addition she’s now also cast as the love interest of all the guys and like with her mom’s drama is a “pretend lover” with them. With this Chiyuki hopes to find a clue on who her father might actually be.

Otome Game Review: Tlicolity Eyes ~Twinkle Showtime~

In a future 50 years from now people started doing nanomachine experiments on volunteers to make humanity better. Unfortunately it caused problems so the entire project was scrapped, however the nano machines continued to be passed down in people’s DNA. Now in the present day those with and without nano-machine powers coexist together but those with powers are often seen as “monsters” by regular people. The story takes place about 3 sisters who have those powers, Touchi Sakura, Natsume and Aoi. Their powers allow them to increase “stats” of a person such as strength, eye sight, charm etc but with a caveat: when they use this power on a man he gets a temporary charm effect on them and can’t stop professing his undying love. Also the video I used is a promo movie which lists all the additions to Switch port but I absolutely recommend checking out the OP movie which is super catchy!

Guest Review: Code Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~

Hello once again, mesubutas! Whomst among us does not enjoy a realized code? Unlike my earlier sojourns into girl gamer land, I did not purchase Code Realize in a 99% off Steam sale using the money I got from selling Steam cards that I got from idling in Crusader Kings 2 to Russian money launderers…but instead I did nab the Bouquet of Rainbows double edition (yes that’s right, this means that I will be playing the poruno fandisc shortly as well) during a random sale over the summer for about $20. Unfortunately for all of you, I never got to really get into it in earnest because shortly after purchasing it the ol’ ball and chain decided that she was going to required me to roll multiple new alts in FFXIV in case she wanted to take kissing screenshots for all the other alts she had. But fortunately for all of you, a few days ago I smashed her Diabolik Lovers mug and she got mad enough to no longer require me to keep playing with said alts and exiled me to the PS4 room to finish this (I should’ve been lauded for destroying an artifact from such a cursed franchise…) So anyway, here we gooooooooooooooooo! (Spoilers of course, but c’mon this game came out 6 years ago and all of you have already played it by this point anyway.)

Otome Game Review: Cupid Parasite

Cupid is a goddess in the god world Dii Consentes whose job is to shoot arrows at people whose colors “match up well” to make them fall in love. Unfortunately all the people she’s shot so far have fallen in love but almost immediately broken up! Her father calls her a useless faildaughter, so her aunt Minerva teaches her about smartphones and social media to try to get her caught up with the times. Cupid is then surprised to find a company called Cupid Corporation and ends up getting a job there while keeping her true identity a secret. She also adopts the name Lynette Mirror, based on the heroine from her favorite movie. With time, becomes the best wedding planner & matchmaker to show her father that she is the best Cupid there ever was. She gets a tough assignment to get 5 of the most “hard to match” candidates, known as Parasite5, but she accepts in hopes of a promotion at her job. Warning, I apparently wrote a really long summary of every route so text walls (and spoilers of course) ahead lol.
