Abridged Edition Heart no Kuni no Alice ~Wonderful Half-assed World~

This game is an embarrassment I feel embarrassed for wasting money on it.
This game is an embarrassment I feel embarrassed for wasting money on it.

So I made the mistake of buying yet another quin rose game, but this will be the last mistake I will make with Quin Rose.  I loved the original Alice game, anyone who reads this blog will know it. Hell I’m even raving about how much I loved it in my original review. However my high hopes were crushed for the umpteenth time with this remake and after the jump is just a collection of rants about this game and Quin Rose in general. If you enjoyed this game or like Quin Rose, I suggest reading my original review and not going beyond this point! Additionally there’s CG spoilers everywhere so if you’re new to the game and don’t want to be spoiled it’s best to stay away. Otherwise, read on!

Otome Game Review: Snow Bound Land

Based on the story of the  Snow Queen, our heroine Gerda lives in a small village with her childhood friend & neighbor Kai. She also has other childhood friends in the village like Craes who works at a bakery, and the sickly Orva who’s got some incurable disease where he’s bed ridden all the time. Then there’s also Aje who lives in another village but he’s been traveling and searching for someone so he’s stopped in Gerda’s village for a bit. One day Kai brings Gerda a mirror saying it can make any wish come true so everyone decides to get together and wish for it to cure Orva’s disease.  Unfortunately it’s a cursed mirror created by a demon using the powers of the Snow Queen and when they make the wish it breaks into pieces. The pieces all get thrown inside the bodies of Gerda and her friends placing a curse on all of them. Kai becomes bipolar, Aje gets foot in mouth disease, Craes is able to predict bad people, Gerda gets superman strength but Orva’s disease is cured despite him now basically rotting anything he touches. The demon who created the mirror shows up and tells them that if they want to break the curse they need to go see the Snow Queen in the White World, but the only way to do this is to go to the Red, Green and Yellow worlds to obtain special keys. With this, Gerda and her friends gather together to begin Snow Bound Land: The Incredible Journey.

Otome Game Review: Kamigami no Asobi

Kusanagi Yui is your average high school girl living with her family who owns a shrine. One day she finds some magical sword at the shrine and before she knows it, she’s teleported into a miniature garden created by a bored Zeus.  The mini garden contains a high school and not only is she to attend it, but her fellow classmates are Greek, Norse, Japanese and Egyptian gods (whose powers have all been restricted by Zeus)! Her job is to now attend school with these other gods and teach them about HUMAN EMOTIONS such as LOVE! Unfortunately, our heroine is completely inexperienced in the love department, but those who disobey Zeus’ orders get a lightning bolt to the butt.

Otome Game Review: The Exorcism of Maria ~Complete Edition~

Mary Crow is a young exorcist and she’s sent to a Japanese priest school from the Vatican to further enhance her studies. I don’t know why the hell anyone would send someone to learn about western religion in an eastern country BUT LET’S ROLL WITH IT! When she comes to Japan she’s given the name Maria, but Maria’s job isn’t just to study. Her job is to help exorcise demons that keep attacking the school, as well as attacking her. Turns out Maria is a demon magnet because she has a cursed blood flowing through her which is a curse that’s been passed through thousands of years in the Crow family lineage.  Fortunately the secret of Maria’s exorcism powers are the fact that she has contracted with a demon named Uriel when she was a loli. He’s like her pokemon who will go out, beat up the demons and then eat them as a tasty snack. All Maria ever does is just throw some holy water or smack them with a bible 😆 Unfortunately these little low rank demons are just busywork for Maria who’s now the target of an organization called Hellfire, as they are trying to use her as a sacrifice to summon the great demon Azazel.

Otome Game Review: Diamond no Kuni no Alice ~Wonderful Mirror World~

Let’s be honest, this isn’t a sequel or an alternative Dia. This is really just Quin Rose trying to suck their remaining customer base dry by splitting the Dia game in half and releasing 2 separate games.  This time, Boris, Julius, Gray, Nightmare and Ace get routes but after finishing the game I can definitely say they could have easily combined the 2 into 1 disk by simply cutting out all the fat. Anyway I think I’m going into my final thoughts in the intro paragraph so I’ll stop here .  Basically Alice is once again in Clover no Kuni and she goes through the looking glass to find herself once again in the Country of Diamonds, with no recollection of any of the events that happened in the previous Dia game.
