Otome Game Review: NORN9 -Norn + Nonette-

It’s the year 2015 and in 2060 there was World War 4. A shota named Suzuhara Sorata finds himself at a research lab facility that he’s visiting with his classmates for a special tour. Suddenly he starts trippin’ balls hearing some kind of music and seeing a ghost girl talk to him.  Before he knows it, he falls asleep and then finds himself awakened in year 1919! He thinks he’s jumped back in time to the taisho era and then he runs into a girl who can’t even remember her name. She’s babbling nonsense and suddenly a giant alien space ship comes down to them and takes them both on board. On the ship Sorata meets some kids who all have psychic powers and he finds out that they’re on a journey around the world until they reach their “destination” – which is supposedly America. The game then switches to the points of view of 3 heroines and their relationships with the other psychic power users there.. Anyway this intro makes no freaking sense so if you want to make sense of anything you’re gonna have to read some spoilers after the jump . As usual you can avoid spoilers and skip to my final thoughts instead!

Otome Game Review: Black Wolves Saga -Last Hope-

Because apparently 96 of you voted for this, I decided to finally play Black Wolves Saga. There’s a country of Weblin where humans and furries once lived in peace. The humans let the  cats and wolves take lead, and there are other races like rabbits, dogs, mice etc. One day someone from the wolf race went and stabbed someone from the cat race and that’s when shit hit the fan. A war broke out between cats and wolves and just around that time rabies some black plague disease called Zodiva spread and started mass killing everyone. Someone then started a rumor that the plague came from the wolves and then the wolves started getting attacked by humans to “wipe away the disease.” In self defense, the wolves started fighting back (though most of the time beyond their control due to the mad cow disease). Needless to say with plagues and rumors going around, the wolves pretty much got wiped off the face of Weblin – except they didn’t. In fact the remaining wolves have all been secretly living in the woods while Weblin was taken over by the cats. Meanwhile back at the ranch, there’s a rich ojousama named Fiona Galland who is our heroine. She’s just reached her 16th birthday and she spent her entire life living in a tower like Rapunzel, never being allowed to see the outside world. The reason being is because Fiona was born with SPECIAL genes Key Aids and her body called Robeira, so she  is incredibly weak that even catching a cold can be deadly. On her 16th birthday they figure that it’s safe for her to leave the nest and see the outside world. Unfortunately by doing so, she gets caught in between the battle of the furries. In other words, welcome to Rejet’s rendition of Animal Farm!

Otome Game Review: Amnesia -Crowd-

When Otomate announced Amnesia Crowd nobody knew what it was about. Everyone thought it was going to be a sequel, a new deeper story for the Amnesia world. I felt something was fishy when the story page listed the exact same story as the original and in my head I thought this was going to be some kind of a remake. Turns out, it’s actually just  a 2nd fandisk and may as well be called Amnesia -Even Later-. The suspense section features a time when Mary Sue is stuck somewhere during the first game and your man of choice has to save her.  The working section features Mary just working her part time job at Meido no Hitsuji where you play some annoying mini games and interact with chibi versions of the characters. The Love section goes a bit further beyond Later and shows Mary and your dude of choice finally getting married after graduating college. Since Working and Suspense take place in the first game, Mary once again doesn’t talk. (;´∀`)

Otome Game Review: Wand of Fortune II FD ~Kimi ni Sasageru Epilogue~

The fandisk to WOF2 in which you meet a fairy named Bell who looks like a chibi Lulu. She’s transcended time & space and is here to let Lulu see her past, present and future! In the past section Lulu turns into a loli and runs around causing trouble. In the present, she attends a great ball with one of the guys. In the future, it’s the after story of 3 years later with both Lulu and her guy near graduation and ready to get married.

Otome Game Review: Wand of Fortune II ~Jikuu ni Shizumu Mokushiroku~

Following the normal end of the first game, here’s the sequel to Wand of Fortune. Unfortunately for players of the first game, this game wants you to forget and/or pretend most of the events in the first game never happened. Story is Bilal is on his way back to his country so everyone’s taking a memorial photo together. So then Edgar goes to take the photo with his magnifying glass (which is apparently also a camera) but as usual he screws up and his magnifier goes out of control. Suddenly Lulu finds herself lost in a forest with some guy who sounds like the mask in the Solomon item shop. He names himself Persona and his sleepy friend Solomon help her find the rest of her friends. She meets Fatta Morgana face to face and he explains that they’ve been thrown into the past because of Lulu’s fail magic and Edgar’s magnifier. On top of this, Lulu’s magical wand breaks! Solomon tells them they need to gather memory stones in order to return back to the FORTUNE FUTURE! He gives Lulu a sailor moon prism power makeup compact to use in the meantime until she can gather enough elemental stones. Unfortunately they also find out that they’ve jumped back right before the  start of the Great Latium War.
