Otome Game Review: Brothers Conflict -Brilliant Blue-

After god knows how many years of delays, Otomate finally released Brilliant Blue…however now that I finally got to play it, the delays are a mystery to me when all the common route/stat raising/date system is a copy pasta template of Passion Pink! Literally I just sat there force skipping through almost every “family” scene because it was dejavu from the previous game. Some scenes I sat through simply because it has been such a long time since I played PP that I didn’t actually remember if I saw them or not. Despite the copypasta, the individual brothers were still enjoyable for what it’s worth and while it took me a bit getting used to, eventually the system became pretty easy to go through. With improvements such as saving during choices as well as using quick save/quick load unlike last time, this time it was smooth sailing. Anyway on to Ema’s brocon adventures!

Otome Game Review: First Complex

Kousaka Miyuki has transferred back to her old hometown from Tokyo  for her 2nd year of high school. She hasn’t been there since kindergarten so she doesn’t remember much.  She has long messy hair that she uses to cover up her face as a “barrier” because she has a serious case of social anxiety.  When anyone gets near her, even just saying yes and ok is a near disaster for her, so she spends most of her time away from others. A few days after transferring she makes friends with her classmates, Kotaro, Minami and Jun (who are twins) and starts a better outlook on life. Little does she know that the past trauma is about to catch up to her. And here I’m back with another raving review about Tetrascaope’s games which is gonna be all tl;dr because I absolutely loved the story!

Otome Game Review: Rakuen Danshi ~Beast Harem~

I started this game almost 2 years ago but due to delays/lack of interest in games the last few months, I decided to just finish it again. At the time I had only done 80% of Yukito’s route but once I got through it, the rest was mostly a skip-a-thon so I was able to get through the game faster than expected. And so here we are, a game based on a really trashy Shoujo Manga. When I say trashy I mean like Shinjo Mayu near porno levels 😆 I bought the 3 volumes on Amazon Kindle out of curiosity and was surprised Takuyo would even make a game based on something like this. Anyway more on that in my final thoughts. Our story is about Kanzaki Asuna, who moves back to her old hometown to stay with her cousin Yukito. Her dad is an engineer and tells her he’s off on a 2 year business trip with Yukito’s dad telling her to do well on her own! She figures things are ok since she’s got Yukito by her side but turns out that the school she’s going to transfer to was once an all boys school. They only started allowing girls in as of this year and since Asuna is a 2nd year student, she’s the only female sophomore in her grade. From here on Asuna’s bishie harem adventures begin!

Otome Game Review: Amnesia World

So I didn’t intend to play this when it came out a year ago but I found it on sale while I was in Japan and was like well why not? Turns out it was actually a worthwhile purchase for me. I played this solely during my commute which is why it took me almost 2 months to complete but I enjoyed it none the less. The game begins with our heroine (who will forever be known as Mary Sue on this blog) once again having no memories as she’s transported through different “worlds”. Pretty much brief summaries ahead and not much of a spoiler so feel free to read on everything except Second World which actually has the true spoiler of the game.

Otome Game Review: Re: Birthday Song ~Koi wo Utau Shinigami~

Our heroine Kokoro gets taken to the Netherworld by some grandpa owl who tells her she will now be enrolling in a school to become a shinigami. Netherworld is a place that souls go to if they have regrets from their past lives and cannot transcend into the afterlife. Unfortunately Kokoro isn’t the brightest bulb on the tree and she ends up getting a 2 on her exam – successfully FAILING to get a shinigami partner. Because of this she’s placed into a “special” learning group for all the other failures. Unlike most shinigami there, Kokoro has no memories of her past life, how she died, and what regrets brought her to the Netherworld.
