Otome Game Review: Moujyuutachi to Ohimesama -Beast & Princess-

Otomate figured since Beastmaster & Prince was popular they’d do a spinoff game to rake in those yens. Unfortunately, tacked on with a poor new mofumofu system and a very poor excuse for content, the game ended up being an exquisite waste of time. Review shouldn’t be too long since well not much happened at all! Our heroine Julia is a princess who lives in a castle by herself her whole life with her 4 animal pets a dog Ludwik, canary Mias, horse Ryszard,  and bear Jozef. She’s been locked in there by her parents but somehow managed to stash in 4 decently sized animals.  😂 One day her cousin Henryk comes to her telling her that his dad, aka her uncle, has killed both of her parents so now she’s free to leave the tower. Julia realizes she can’t keep her animals anymore so she says goodbye – until her uncle bursts in threatening to kill her too. Suddenly Ryszard flips Julia on his back and horseback rides her and the other animals into the woods away from the castle. When they get to the woods she pulls out a pouch her father left her in case of “emergency”. When she opens it, she finds some rainbow colored fairy dust and when it accidentally falls on all of her animal friends, they turn into 4 ikemans! Julia and her band of hot dudes make their escape to the town of Piskis where they take upon various jobs to support their new life.

Otome Game Review: Collar x Malice

There exists an organization called Adonis which has been responsibile for a several murder cases throughout the year. Each case they have “count down until X-day” in which they plan to “rebuild” Japan. They leave a coin with a cat symbol on it and a roman numeral that indicates the number of months till the count down. The overall theme of each case is revenge. Adonis has decided to become the anonymous justice league that murders those who have hurt others when police refuse to take action. Our heroine, Hoshino Ichika is a regular boring policewoman who doesn’t do more than maybe help find a lost child or take a cat down from a tree.  However one day after work, someone drugs her, knocks her out and when she wakes up she finds her body is paralyzed in a church and she has a collar around her neck. The collar transmits a radio signal through which a voice tells her that she’s been chosen by Adonis to be an “experiment” to prove her sense of justice before X-day happens. If she fails to do so, Adonis will send a signal to release deadly poison through the collar and she will die. Just then a group of guys burst in, and by inputting a code they disable her paralyzation but she cannot remove the collar. They also just so happen to be a bootleg detective agency full of ex-cops (+ half assed secret service member) set up by the leader, Yanagi Aiji, in order to put a stop to X-day that’s set to occur on new year’s day of the following year. Remember big fat spoilers ahead so jump to my final thoughts if you intend to play this game – which has been licensed in English for release in 2017! (`・ω・´)

Otome Game Review: Jewelic Nightmare

Tsukishiro Michiru dreams about the world of Calmina every night. There she meets a bunch of anthropomorphic jewels who treat her like their blow up doll while she spams her necklace powers in their faces. Once she wakes up, she actually runs into their “look a likes” in real life. Will Michiru ever figure out the deal with her dreams and be able to get some restful sleep? Good thing this game was from the bargain bin of bookoff cause it really wasn’t worth anything. 😂

Otome Game Review: Period Cube ~Torikago no Amadeus~

Hanamiya Kazuha got hit by a car when she was little which caused brain damage and memory lapses. She’s been able to live her daily life fairly normally despite having gaps in her memories. One day her childhood friend Hiroya tells her that her brother Shiki has been MIA for a few days. The two of them think he might be sucked into an MMO game called Arcadia – on server V – where if you login to the server, your body goes into a coma and your soul is “inside” the game. Hiroya then tells Kazuha to make an alt on her brother’s account and join the fun but…our heroine apparently barely knows how to use a computer let alone play an online MMORPG. On top of it, server V is a PK server full of high level players and somehow Kazuha has access to godly powers that allow her to basically wipe out everything in sight. So now while she’s trying to find her oniichan, every player is out to get her to join their party so they can clear the end game dungeon – the Hakobune – in order to log their soul out of Server V. Unfortunately their time is limited because something called the “Death Cloud” is running around basically wiping all the data off the server.
