Otome Game Review: Prince of Stride

Sakurai Nana is a farm girl from Hokkaido who transfers to Hounan high school in order to join the Stride team. She got inspired after seeing some youtube video called “best stride ever.mp4” (which btw on real youtube has nothing to do with this game). After transferring, she finds out the club’s inactive due to loss of members, because of some violence incident. Nana is determined to get the club running, so she helps recruit 2 more members and the 5 man stride team + relay-tioner Nana is complete. A “relay-tioner” role is that of someone who guides the striders during their runs so they can meet up with tag their other team members. The stride relay race takes place in various locations such as cities and even amusement parks, and they basically run parkour style throughout, jumping over various obstacles such as fences, cats, and elderly grandmothers to reach the goal. Aside from being their guide, Nana also gives them magical otome powers in order to GIVE THEM THE COURAGE TO BE THE VERY BEST.

Otome Game Review: Zettai Meikyuu -Himitsu no Oyayubihime-

Wow was this game certainly a disappointment! If you’re coming with the hopes that it’ll be as great as Karin’s other games, you should just kick dem nasty thoughts and be prepared to omnomnom some copypasta. There was once a woman whose husband passed away and she met a wizard. She begged for him to bring her husband back to life but he said he cannot do that. Instead, he said he’d make her other wish come true and give her a child. He gave her a magic seed and out of the seed came out a little girl who learned how to use magic spells. However on her 15th birthday, the girl Charlotte shrinks to become fun sized and the entire village coins her “Thumbelina”. This is all because the magic spell the magician cast to protect her had wore off. Unfortunately one day the dark knight with his band of angry scissor wielding lizards come and set the village on fire. They demand for the village to hand over Charlotte but her mother and her childhood friend Match Boy, named Lars, are determined to protect her. Unfortunately her mother is killed, and before she dies she tells Charlotte to take the magic book and run for the hills. And so Charlotte and Lars go on an adventure to find out more about who is after her and to see if she can return to being big again.

Otome Game Review: Shinobi Koi Utsutsu ~Setsugekka Koi Emaki~

Welcome to the Vita port of my favorite game of 2014! Unfortunately, as much as I enjoyed the original game, the “new” stuff just did not meet my expectations so this won’t be as a raving review as before. This review will only cover the new stuff, so for the original ninja action please check here. The story this time focuses on the 4 new ninjas Toyotomi Hidetora, Kirigakure Tadahito, Ukita Yoshiie and Hattori Hanzo. Toyotomi Hidetora, the next in line to be shogun,  with his loyal servant Hattori Hanzo come to the ninja school and announce that the person who scores best on the next ninja exam will basically get a free pass to enter the Sanada Army loyal to the Toyotomi house. Ukita Yoshie crawls out from under a rock for some reason even though he’s been held back for like 3 years and is now 20 years old at the school (worse than Garaiya!!) Hidetora and Hanzo both announce that they will be students from this day on, mostly cause Hidetora ran around acting like an idiot and his parents wanted him to get trained to be a proper shogun. Unfortunately, Kaede is so shocked by finding out who Hidetora is, that all her training jumps out the window and her jutsu goes off STRONGER THAN EVER! Now anyone who is hit under it thinks that Kaede is already their girlfriend/wife lol. Sanada sensei tells everyone since they already have approval to join  the Sanada Yuushitai, they are no longer eligible to be with Kaede! She must now choose from Hidetora, Hanzo, Ukita or Tadahito.  It’s now up to Kaede to pick her destined dude to win and once again try to train her meromero jutsu under control!

Otome Game Review: Possession Magenta

Mihara Suzu is your average high school girl who lives with her adopted childhood friend Kanade. One day she finds out one of her classmates is missing and Kanade suggests he might have gotten “possessed”. A possessed person usually becomes violent and starts attacking people like he’s got a bad case of rabies. The next day they find that the missing student has been murdered and nailed to the giant clock in the park. While detectives are going around trying to solve the mystery, Suzu starts to stumble upon some mysterious tarot cards that only she can see. When her friend Matsuri gets possessed, Suzu realizes she can use these cards to turn people back to normal. With this in mind and the fact that everyone is blaming Kanade for the murder, Suzu decides to take matters into her own hands to get to the bottom of things. Otome Game Review: Hitofuta Kitan

While I was waiting for my Vita games to arrive I decided to pick up this game from the bargain bin. It came out in 2012 but it did poorly so that’s why it’s like 70% off on Amazon and why the company hasn’t had any releases since. (´・ω・`) After playing it through myself I now realize why that is – but more on that in my final thoughts. Our story is about Hinokami Chie who ends up going to boarding school when her parents go overseas. One day she runs into a 2 tailed cat ayakashi who tells her that she has some Onmyouji powers and asks her to seal the 12 Chinese Zodiac beasts in the zodiac book.
