Otome Game Review: Prince of Stride

Sakurai Nana is a farm girl from Hokkaido who transfers to Hounan high school in order to join the Stride team. She got inspired after seeing some youtube video called “best stride ever.mp4” (which btw on real youtube has nothing to do with this game). After transferring, she finds out the club’s inactive due to loss of members, because of some violence incident. Nana is determined to get the club running, so she helps recruit 2 more members and the 5 man stride team + relay-tioner Nana is complete. A “relay-tioner” role is that of someone who guides the striders during their runs so they can meet up with tag their other team members. The stride relay race takes place in various locations such as cities and even amusement parks, and they basically run parkour style throughout, jumping over various obstacles such as fences, cats, and elderly grandmothers to reach the goal. Aside from being their guide, Nana also gives them magical otome powers in order to GIVE THEM THE COURAGE TO BE THE VERY BEST.

Otome Game Review: KLAP!! ~Kind Love and Punish~

Koyomi dreams of being a teacher but after she applies to many schools, she gets nothing but rejections. One day, she finally receives an acceptance letter at school deep in some mountain. After finally making her way there and meeting a bunch of weirdos & delinquents, she arrives at the principal’s office only to discover that he’s an ayakashi! He tells her that their entire school & town harbors ayakashi (also referred to as yuuma), especially ones who cannot control their powers and would be a hazard to human beings. In order to “train” to contain their powers, he has set up this school and Koyomi is now one of the “disciplinary teachers”. Once the ayakashi at the school “graduate” they will receive a “license” that allows them to leave this village and live amongst humans as they are no longer a threat. The reason Koyomi was chosen is she has a strong connection to spirits due to her family being shrine owners with relatives being onmyoujis. The principal makes a deal to give her a good reference to a human school if she works at their school for 1 year. The scope of her job is….to whip her students into shape. (◉◞౪◟◉`)ノ~~✧

Otome Game Review: Possession Magenta

Mihara Suzu is your average high school girl who lives with her adopted childhood friend Kanade. One day she finds out one of her classmates is missing and Kanade suggests he might have gotten “possessed”. A possessed person usually becomes violent and starts attacking people like he’s got a bad case of rabies. The next day they find that the missing student has been murdered and nailed to the giant clock in the park. While detectives are going around trying to solve the mystery, Suzu starts to stumble upon some mysterious tarot cards that only she can see. When her friend Matsuri gets possessed, Suzu realizes she can use these cards to turn people back to normal. With this in mind and the fact that everyone is blaming Kanade for the murder, Suzu decides to take matters into her own hands to get to the bottom of things. Otome Game Review: Hitofuta Kitan

While I was waiting for my Vita games to arrive I decided to pick up this game from the bargain bin. It came out in 2012 but it did poorly so that’s why it’s like 70% off on Amazon and why the company hasn’t had any releases since. (´・ω・`) After playing it through myself I now realize why that is – but more on that in my final thoughts. Our story is about Hinokami Chie who ends up going to boarding school when her parents go overseas. One day she runs into a 2 tailed cat ayakashi who tells her that she has some Onmyouji powers and asks her to seal the 12 Chinese Zodiac beasts in the zodiac book.

Otome Game Review: Brothers Conflict -Brilliant Blue-

After god knows how many years of delays, Otomate finally released Brilliant Blue…however now that I finally got to play it, the delays are a mystery to me when all the common route/stat raising/date system is a copy pasta template of Passion Pink! Literally I just sat there force skipping through almost every “family” scene because it was dejavu from the previous game. Some scenes I sat through simply because it has been such a long time since I played PP that I didn’t actually remember if I saw them or not. Despite the copypasta, the individual brothers were still enjoyable for what it’s worth and while it took me a bit getting used to, eventually the system became pretty easy to go through. With improvements such as saving during choices as well as using quick save/quick load unlike last time, this time it was smooth sailing. Anyway on to Ema’s brocon adventures!
