The Pitfalls of Bad Game Systems: My short lived encounter with AreaX

areaximage

So I had a little bit of time yesterday and today and decided to finally play AreaX that I purchased from Zeiva at Otakon this year. I’m very sorry to say that while I really wanted to give this game a chance, the system pretty much prevented me from doing so and therefore ruined my experience overall. Btw this isn’t really a review of the game, but rather a commentary.

Otome Game Review: Dot Kareshi: We’re 8-bit Lovers! ~Tenkuu no Kiss~

And so this is the 2nd party set of characters from your videogame! As usual our heroine ends up inside of it due to a “bug” but this time, a video game god comes out and tells her the bug excuse is all a coverup! If you complain to the programmers they’ll just lie out their ass and say that this is a bonus stage working as intended! \( ^o^)/ Our colorful cast this time includes a Paladin tank, a support/healer Dancer, and our 2 DPS’s Monk and Beastmaster!

Otome Game Review: Diamond no Kuni no Alice ~Wonderful Mirror World~

Let’s be honest, this isn’t a sequel or an alternative Dia. This is really just Quin Rose trying to suck their remaining customer base dry by splitting the Dia game in half and releasing 2 separate games.  This time, Boris, Julius, Gray, Nightmare and Ace get routes but after finishing the game I can definitely say they could have easily combined the 2 into 1 disk by simply cutting out all the fat. Anyway I think I’m going into my final thoughts in the intro paragraph so I’ll stop here .  Basically Alice is once again in Clover no Kuni and she goes through the looking glass to find herself once again in the Country of Diamonds, with no recollection of any of the events that happened in the previous Dia game.

SmaKare Game Review: Sensei, Ikenai koto tte nandesuka?

senseis

Anyway this time, my randomly generated heroine Tsugimoto Hitomi is a 17 year old high school girl whose boyfriend is a dickface rapist that forces her to have sex with him in the classroom a month after they’ve started going out. When Hitomi refuses, he dumps her on the spot (well good riddance to that piece of human garbage!) Fortunately to help dry her tears (or in my eyes, cause further trauma), she has 5 hot teachers ready to do all sorts of forbidden things! 😆

Otome Game Review: School Wars ~Sotsugyou Sensen~

This took way longer than it should have because my otome gaming motivation got run over by a steamroller called FFXIV 😆 Didn’t help that this game is just really really mediocre and I really wanna punch myself for wasting time with any Quin Rose fandisks ( ´_ゝ`).  Anyway the story takes place after Shiori graduates and now she has a month before she starts college. Unfortunately the school gets slammed with an investigation and instead of spending her spring break having fun, she has to spend her spring break making sure nothing weird happens so that their school isn’t shut down.  Also to add salt to the wound, aside from Itsuki and Shinya, all the relationship statuses with the rest have been reset. The only real new route here is the student council pres, Naezono Ouji.
