Bright Shadow: Basic Interface

bsint01So in an ongoing attempt to get more non Japanese speaking friends to play I bring you – the interface! This won’t translate quests for you, but don’t be lazy and use the JP wiki along with Jim Breen like the rest of us! 😆

Anyway the first part of the interface above is pretty self explanatory. You got your red HP and blue MP bar. The yellow is the earned exp bar. The “SP” bar is part of the whole Bright Shadow system. You need SP to use attacks, but you can also convert it to HP or MP. In addition you need it to feed your pets or they will return to egg status. The expel/leave commands are for your party members. Once the purple balls on the right of your status thingy fill up, you can use the Bright Shadow icon thing which will basically increase your walking speed as well as attack and defense for a short period of time. This gauge increases as you fight monsters.

Why I am done with Megaten.

Nice mesh rehash Cave.

After careful consideration, I’m basically putting Megaten on the shelf until further notice.

Bright Shadow English Guild

LOL @ my outfit.
LOL @ my outfit.

Ok so I managed to finally reach level 25 which was the minimum requirement for making a guild XD. So I’ve made the “newest” active English Bright Shadow guild called ☆英語☆. If you’d like to join you can always apply at any Guild person in towns or just message me in game (猫カフェ) for an invite. 🙂 The game’s been fun for the past couple days and thanks to quests we leveled super fast and managed to get decent equipment. I’ve somewhat figured out the way to get the pet, but when JP & I tried to do that quest we got owned by level 25 books. (Had to kill 175 of them in an hour to pass x_X;) I do want to try doing some of the lower level ones though in order to get that tiger mount (which I think at this time is the only mount you can get that isn’t a cash shop item.)

I may post some kind of basic interface guide if anyone is actually interested in playing this game. So far it’s just been me, JP and Alex but would be great if anyone else could play with us.

Progress in Bright Shadow

Welcome to civilization!
Welcome to civilization!

So anyway I’m having a blast at Bright Shadow. Sometimes I’m too lazy to read what the quest NPCs have to say to me but I do laugh when my options are like “god shot up, I’m sick of running around” 😆 Also what’s unique about BS’s quest system is you don’t just click “accept” or “cancel” you sometimes have to pick the right choices in different order or the NPC gets angry at you and doesn’t give you the quest! While a lot of quests  involve a lot of running around you do get money and experience for them and it makes the time pass. Before you know you’ll have nya-tan flying and telling you that you’ve played for 5 hours and should go take a break (*´∀`*)ノ

Bright Shadow: Introduction

Kawaii desu noobcake
Kawaii desu noobcake

So a while back I really wanted to try this out but I hesitated due to my shitty old laptop and instead played Pangya for like 2 years. Now that Megaten is boring me to tears and Pangya USA is still in limbo…I finally decided to give this game a chance. I’m really glad I did since I think this is what I’m going to be playing for the next few weeks. The best thing about the game is it requires REALLY LOW specs. I think this means even people with crappy computers (I’m looking at you Dan) can play it without their system crashing. I had a little bit video graphic trouble at first but once I set all my textures and stuff on real high everything went smoothly. When you start the game as always you can choose hair style, color, eye color, facial expression, and skin color as well as whether you want to be male or female. (Since this is a Japanese game just assume every female is a dude unless proven otherwise ) Continue reading “Bright Shadow: Introduction”
