What the…Bright Shadow coming in English!

I only discovered this because I got the URL of the official site as a blog hit. That’s right it turns out that Bright Shadow is coming in English and licensed by no other than….GamepotUSA! 😯 It’s pretty weird since Gamania Japan has the license to the Japanese one, but Gamepot USA is picking up the English one o_O. Hmm haha I don’t know what to think. I’ve not really kept up with the Japanese bright shadow much but from what I saw basically their only updates were lottery items and the lottery in BS is really terrible – you only get 1 piece of an outfit and you have the chance of getting a piece of an outfit that only lasts for 7 days so it’s not even permanent! @_@ In addition to the terrible TERRIBLE physics and clipping, as well as pretty much no places to save so you gotta keep running back & forth and the lack of WASD…make this a pretty crappy game hahaha. But maybe they improved it recently? I doubt it though to be honest. Oh well I suppose this will attract some kind of an audience, maybe I’ll sign up for a closed beta for shits & giggles and compare the two or something.

Isn’t it funny how all these MMOs that I tried in Japan are suddenly getting licensed? Are game developers reading my blog? 😆

Edit: The Game Features page lists “eye dye” and “Gender free armor” wut? I’m 100% sure that I’ve gotten male pants dropped from a monster before and I have to give them to JP and vice versa. Did they implement a ton of new shit in the last 3 months or something? Guess we’ll have to see!

Why I Am Quitting Bright Shadow.

I know I’m a really terrible game hopper but there’s always something in a game that becomes a potential annoyance and the longer I play said game, the more obvious the annoyance becomes. Bright Shadow was fun for the first 25 levels, and after that things sorta went downhill and I know this will continue to be this way if I keep grinding on.

Bright Shadow Spring Level Up Campaign

bsuniforms Ok so recently I’m playing BS again because Pangya tour mode on Wii is getting really hard (although a good learning experience cause I had no idea you could make those shots on Sylvia! 😯 ) They’re having a level up campaign where if you hit a certain level you get a prize. Sadly you have to be level 30 or under to be eligible for anything and I’m 33 :S Good news is that for those above 31 if you login for 10 days you will get a 30 day “Bright Shadow Gakuen” school uniform. Yea 30 day limited items are lame but hey you’re not doing much to get it either so be sure you get your logins in. I’ll probably actually play though, I do like the game but Pangya had taken over for a few weeks. 😛

Bright Shadow Weekly Update 3/24

gothlolibs A little behind on this since I’ve been playing Pangya Wii but I figured I’d mention it anyway. New lottery as always, featuring some goth loli dresses for the girls and umm whatever the hell that is for the guys. 😕 They also mention that they are aware of the random lag problems (which everyone but me seems to get lol) and they’re working on fixing it…so that’s good to hear. Unfortunately I’m almost finished the Silvia Canon map in Pangya and moving on to Deep Inferno so I’m still on a little BS vacation until further notice 🙂

LH x BS Campaign

I should probably stop moaning & groaning about Bright Shadow’s events but I mean this one is just like REALLY stupid. They want you to register a new account with Lucent Heart, then play 10 hours and reach level 20. Once you do this you will then get a stupid pet on Bright Shadow which does absolutely nothing (sorry Elephant-kun but my devil at least gives me magic +20 🙄 ) The prize you get on LH is even uglier so I imagine no one from LH is going to want to suddenly go & play BS. I mean I like Bright Shadow so I am going to be playing Bright Shadow. Why are you telling me to play ANOTHER game? 😯

I realized BS’s events are really stupid and mostly cash lottery items, but at least the game itself is redeeming enough that I can ignore this factor and enjoy the game as is (at least for now.)
