So while I generally stay away from mobile games lately (and any I try don’t last more than a week) I’ve been kinda addicted to Nier Reincarnation which just got released in Japan last week. I figured I’d do a brief overview of the system and how it works and touch upon the obvious gacha rates 😂😂
In a future 50 years from now people started doing nanomachine experiments on volunteers to make humanity better. Unfortunately it caused problems so the entire project was scrapped, however the nano machines continued to be passed down in people’s DNA. Now in the present day those with and without nano-machine powers coexist together but those with powers are often seen as “monsters” by regular people. The story takes place about 3 sisters who have those powers, Touchi Sakura, Natsume and Aoi. Their powers allow them to increase “stats” of a person such as strength, eye sight, charm etc but with a caveat: when they use this power on a man he gets a temporary charm effect on them and can’t stop professing his undying love. Also the video I used is a promo movie which lists all the additions to Switch port but I absolutely recommend checking out the OP movie which is super catchy!
Kisakino Emi is an orphan whose parents died in a car accident when she was in middle school. She’s been living at an orphanage but attending a local high school so other than that part she was just your avg high school girl. One day she gets an invitation to a fancy ass all boys school owned by the rich Sumeragi corporation. Their goal is to have a girl, a “Princess” so to speak be in the school for a year to help them test waters to make the school reopen as a mixed gender school (just like with all the other HimeHibi games.) Unfortunately there’s a catch – she cannot tell her friends, or anyone, as it’s a top secret project, so they basically cut off all her communication and force her to live as the Rapunzel of Sumeragi Gakuen.
In my continuing streak of boredom, I decided to buy Spiral Memoria off the English store due to it being on sale. I read that it was bad, but I was like eh my expectations are pretty low – how bad can it be? Ominous Voice: It was bad. The story is about a heroine named Miku who appears to have lost her memories and is now trying to find out the truth about herself.
I am never gonna see a Trigger Kiss FD but I can dream forever
Every year I say “I can’t believe I’m still going” and it’s no different this year. It’s painfully more and more obvious about how console games are pretty much on their way out the door with mobile taking over and with the fact that non romantic mobile games (and gacha whale card games) are pretty much at the top of the industry right now as they rake in the most cash. Why release 1 console game that people will just buy once, play and forget – when you can continue milking for pixel 2D men until the game shuts down?! On that note a lot of mobile games like that HAVE been shutting down so it’s pretty much an endless cycle with the once in a while console release courtesy of pretty much Otomate and the few others companies still hanging on like Extend. Anyway let’s jump into the usual year end review as well as your all time favorite otome game awards! 😂
