Otome Game Review: Soshite Kono Sora ni Kirameku Kimi no Uta

I didn’t realize this game got 1 star ratings on Amazon Japan until I was almost done with the first route….and I could definitely agree with everything that was said. But you know me and my thing for playing terrible otome games so I plowed through it anyway! 😆 The story is about a girl named Rumina who is the princess of the Saint Foria space colony (pardon the spelling I’m sure I butchered all these Katakana names.) This colony is located in an enclosed space. Rumina is pretty ignorant being a princess and all and has no idea that the people of her kingdom are suffering – until she runs out of the castle one day to see what the common folk are doing. She then gets to travel the universe and even meet the King of Gaia (aka earth) where she learns that people should not be treated as slaves and actually PAID for their work! (something our current US economy could learn but anyway *cough). So yea since she’s a princess and all, she’s gotta marry some rich dude so the kingdoms can merge and we avoid international intrigue over war and wealth! Otome Game Review: Last Escort ~Kurochou Special Night~

As I mentioned in my last post, this is the appendix disk to the original LE. You’re supposed to be able to transfer all your save data and etc. from the first game. I tried to do this many times but after failing I decided to just start from Minazuki’s route and try to make his and Chihiro’s gifts along the way. Fortunately along the way somehow magically….everything transferred O_O! I was so happy I could cry and to add on to my happiness I ended up winning the 20 million yen jackpot like 8 months in a row ／(^o^)＼ﾅﾝﾃｺｯﾀｲ So anyway the only thing that didn’t transfer were my saves but all the Cgs, mails and thank god even gifts transferred. Otome Game Review: Last Escort ~Shinya Kurochou Monogatari~

I call February host club month because I’ve decided to duke it out and make my way through all 3 last escorts! ( ﾟ∀ﾟ)ｱﾊﾊ八八ﾉヽﾉヽﾉヽﾉ＼ / ＼/ ＼ The story is about our heroine Akari whose father owns a host club “Gorgeous” that she decides to start attending. Her father ironically isn’t too happy about this but it doesn’t matter because she gets to visit hot mans and blow her life savings to make sure they get the number one host spot! I almost gave up on this game but Koori helped me out at the beginning which motivated me to continue. You have to first run 1 route of just doing part time jobs to make money and then using that money to buy supplies to make presents for all the mans. That means you gotta make sweaters, earrings, bracelets, hats, scarves, 3 course meals and paint pretty pictures. I mean our heroine really is a jack of all trades! Of course unless you have save state, when you make these presents and they fail you will lose the items and you’ll need to buy more. With save state it was very easy so yea unless you play this on an emulator the game is the equivalent of getting spanked with a belt over and over 😆 Once you make all the gifts and you get the “friend” ending, you can then start playing all the guys routes. While you won’t actually gift them every single gift, you do get a cute “I love you” message from each guy when you complete his “set” of gifts so it was a nice reward for all the effort you have to put in. While doing all the mans’ routes you have to then cheat using save state or in game save and win the jackpot lottery. There’s no way to be able to afford the alcohol for the guy twice a month (which comes out to about 3.5 million yen each time) unless you win the lottery. That said, this game’s values are incredibly unrealistic but let’s roll with it!

Otome Game Review: Asuka! ~Our Seitou High School Baseball Team~

The Japanese slogan as a mouthful so I just translated it into English. This is Madoka Games’ first release – but don’t be fooled, as Madoka Games is actually Mirai Soft’s all ages brand. I’m glad they are thinking beyond the porn for once but I have to admit it really does show that that’s all they think about. This may have been their first all ages release but it felt like it was released by a company that’s never made an otome game before. Anyway the story is very simple. Our heroine Asuka is the manager of her high school’s baseball team who also works part time in a cafe with her older brother Haruto as well as her younger brother Hikaru. The town folk get together and realize if they don’t somehow make their town stand out, everyone will start to leave and their shopping district and community will fall apart. They ask Haruto to become the coach and guide the high school baseball team to make it to Koshien. Doesn’t help that one of that star players of the team is moving away as well, so now it’s up to Asuka to convince everyone who quit to come back and kick some baseball ass!
