And so after Bloody Call, Icing Candy has released their 2nd game. The artwork is slightly different but the premise is a lot brighter and has a more otome feel to it than the dark feeling of BC. The story here is about a kingdom named Ruche that is directly connected with the Tree of Gemut. A long time ago the gods left the kingdom and the tree began to wilt. One day a girl shed some tears and it helped the tree revive. This girl decided that she would pour all her feelings into this tree to save the kingdom so she was locked up in this cage while she provided life energy for the tree. One day she fell in love with a man and her feelings began to go towards him instead of the tree. The Gemut tree began to wilt once more and so the man she was in love with decided to free her from the cage. Unfortunately upon doing this, the girl immediately died. The man was so heartbroken that his feelings of rage caused darkness to create an evil aura and so he created his own kingdom of Noir. Usually the Ruche kingdom has daylight 24/7 but when Noir strikes it becomes suddenly dark 😆 Because Noir causes damage to the Tree of Gamut, now Ruche is looking for a new “Alicis” who will use their life energy to basically keep the tree going! So much for the “white” kingdom being good eh? So now one day a girl named Sumeragi Runa is abducted from Japan by a loli & shota named L & M who tell her that she has to be the next Alicis. Otome Game Review: Asuka! ~Our Seitou High School Baseball Team~
The Japanese slogan as a mouthful so I just translated it into English. This is Madoka Games’ first release – but don’t be fooled, as Madoka Games is actually Mirai Soft’s all ages brand. I’m glad they are thinking beyond the porn for once but I have to admit it really does show that that’s all they think about. This may have been their first all ages release but it felt like it was released by a company that’s never made an otome game before. Anyway the story is very simple. Our heroine Asuka is the manager of her high school’s baseball team who also works part time in a cafe with her older brother Haruto as well as her younger brother Hikaru. The town folk get together and realize if they don’t somehow make their town stand out, everyone will start to leave and their shopping district and community will fall apart. They ask Haruto to become the coach and guide the high school baseball team to make it to Koshien. Doesn’t help that one of that star players of the team is moving away as well, so now it’s up to Asuka to convince everyone who quit to come back and kick some baseball ass! This isn’t a problem of course since everyone is her childhood friend 😆 Continue reading “Otome Game Review: Asuka! ~Our Seitou High School Baseball Team~”
Otome Game Review: Sangoku Rensenki ~Otome no Heihou~
This is basically Fushigi Yuugi x Romance of the Three Kingdoms story. A girl named Yamada Hana (nice generic name!) gets sucked into the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms book and from there she has to help with war strategies in order to bring peace and stop the fighting! That’s great, except I really don’t give a crap about battle tactics! Really let the game decide it for me! I don’t care who wins or loses as long as I get some kissing/confessions at the end. I think I picked the wrong game to play 😐 Spoilers ahead~! Continue reading “Otome Game Review: Sangoku Rensenki ~Otome no Heihou~”
Otome Game Review: Otometeki Koi Kakumei Love Revo!!
For starters this is the most complicated otome game I’ve ever played. If you think you can just click your way through choices and stuff you’ve got another thought coming. This game requires you to take our 100kg heroine Hitomi, and get her down to 55 or less within a years time period. Not only that but you have to also get her to become pretty, smart, athletic and all around a non-existantly perfect human being for any of the bishies to even like her and get a good end with her. Actually apparently she used to be a beauty queen when she was a loli but her siscon oniichan spoiled her with candy so she became a tub of lard. The other problem I had was that a lot of the online guides are only for the DS or PS2 version. While most of the stuff is the same, the keywords at the end were completely different and I had to google for 3 different guides because the first time I played through I didn’t get the bishie’s good end arggh! (Warning: This post is REALLY REALLY long.) Continue reading “Otome Game Review: Otometeki Koi Kakumei Love Revo!!”
