Otome Game Review: MIYAKO ~Tsukiyomi no Yume~

So a while back when I finished DCGS I was so pumped to hear Sanctuary had a new game coming out and then my hopes were crushed so hard when I found out it was to be a PSP only port! Fortunately they decided to be awesome and some years later they released it a PC port with an extra route! Best port ever! (´^ω^`) So our story starts when a girl finds herself summoned by an Onmiyouji who claims that she is his shikigami “created” to do his bidding. The girl has no recollection of who she is but she feels like she was a human and her name is Sayuki. Sadly her new master, Abeno Seimei, is pretty demanding and tells her that if she doesn’t accept her fate as a shikigami, she will disappear.  Seimei then brings her to Izumi at the capital to work, to do things like console quarraling married couples or deliver love letters. Unfortunately some of the jobs she has to do also require her to fight demons. Will she be able to get used to her new life as Shikigami #3? Skip to my final thoughts to avoid spoilers.

Otome Game Review: Tokyo Yamanote Boys -Super Mint-

So now that we’re done with the cotton candy aliens from Honey Milk, it’s time for Long Torso, Trap & Non-Rapist Yusa in Super Mint! The virus plot appears to remain the same…until Jesus comes along and kills the vaccine! Boom suddenly the vaccine plot is gone and Super Mint is now left to create a West Side story plotline to keep us entertained so that we don’t think this game is THAT shallow. Sadly, this doesn’t work, so I hope you like our choice of mans this time around or you’ll be bored to tears like I was. Continue reading “Otome Game Review: Tokyo Yamanote Boys -Super Mint-“

Otome Game Review: Tokyo Yamanote Boys -Honey Milk-

I told myself after Vitamin X I’d avoid Rejet games like the plague but since this game is short and fairly simple to go through I figured why not! None of the guys really appeal to me but they have a winning cast of seiyuu which then obviously puts it into the seiyuuge- category along with Crappy Magic & Starry Sky. Unlike Starry Sky, the premise of TYB is very simple. It’s a competition where a high school girl chosen as the “princess” must get cozy with some mans and then pick her destined one. When she & that guy are prince & princess then there’s some legend that they’ll live happily ever after. So yes the game concept is quite shallow but there was definitely things I didn’t expect so beware of spoilers ahead lol. Continue reading “Otome Game Review: Tokyo Yamanote Boys -Honey Milk-“

Otome Game Review: Kago no Naka no Alicis

And so after Bloody Call, Icing Candy has released their 2nd game. The artwork is slightly different but the premise is a lot brighter and has a more otome feel to it than the dark feeling of BC. The story here is about a kingdom named Ruche that is directly connected with the Tree of Gemut. A long time ago the gods left the kingdom and the tree began to wilt. One day a girl shed some tears and it helped the tree revive. This girl decided that she would pour all her feelings into this tree to save the kingdom so she was locked up in this cage while she provided life energy for the tree. One day she fell in love with a man and her feelings began to go towards him instead of the tree. The Gemut tree began to wilt once more and so the man she was in love with decided to free her from the cage. Unfortunately upon doing this, the girl immediately died. The man was so heartbroken that his feelings of rage caused darkness to create an evil aura and so he created his own kingdom of Noir. Usually the Ruche kingdom has daylight 24/7 but when Noir strikes it becomes suddenly dark 😆 Because Noir causes damage to the Tree of Gamut, now Ruche is looking for a new “Alicis” who will use their life energy to basically keep the tree going! So much for the “white” kingdom being good eh? So now one day a girl named Sumeragi Runa is abducted from Japan by a loli & shota named L & M who tell her that she has to be the next Alicis. Otome Game Review: Starry Sky ~After Summer~

And so we have the fandisk for Summer! Right off the bat  I’m just going to say how much better this is than the Spring fandisk. I guess when the original is awesome the FD is awesome and when the original is fail well you get the picture ( ´_ゝ`). The story starts out with a common route where everyone from the archery club gathered together at some izakaya after 4 years and reminisce about their high school days. From there you pick which dude you wanna follow and then you can proceed to do that guy’s after story. In the common route everyone flashed back to their 3rd year of high school and their training camp for archery. Inukai and Shiratori got into a fight and then made up. They have a test of courage and the 3 new guys along with Tsukiko scare the pants off everyone 😆 Koguma becomes the next captain after Miyaji’s retirement and Azusa takes the vice captain position (saying he’s not meant to be a leader.) Fortunately unlike spring, they didn’t need to add in too many random characters because the cast of summer is awesome as is! Continue reading “Otome Game Review: Starry Sky ~After Summer~”
