Bright Shadow is back from the dead to haunt you one last time.
So without me knowing (or caring) apparently Bright Shadow Japan FINALLY closed its doors in February!
They even had some campaign to give items to people starting new accounts on Gamania’s other games (Divinia & Lucent Heart.) Well not surprising as this game was outdated & crappy and last time I played on the JP servers there was practically nobody on. In the darkness of this closing, Beanfun, which recently picked up Lucent Heart decided to also pick up Bright Shadow which Failpot USA dropped. Supposedly the English Bright Shadow will reopen on July 8th (so very soon actually!) but you have to think about this: The Japanese version of BS is gone, Korean’s been gone for a while…don’t know if the Taiwan one is still running but basically you got a dead game reopening. What does this mean? It means there will probably be no new levels or content updates EXCEPT for the multiple gacha items that Japan had spewed for like 2 years until they finally shut down. Maybe while they’re at it, Beanfun will also revive Fantasy Earth Zero who knows ┐(‘～`；)┌
So unless you just wanna mess around with BS for old times sake, I wouldn’t recommend the English version. You’re essentially playing a zombie game at this point. I’d recommend playing Beanfun’s Lucent Heart (although I hear there’s a BR invasion recently 
) Neither of those 2 games appeal to me so I’m just waiting on my closed beta pass for Ragnarok Online 2 Lime Odyssey! ( Actually seeing that the same team who dragged on RO2 the Gate of World is now dragging their asses on Lime Odyssey…I don’t have much hope for this either tbh.. ( ´_ゝ`)).
In other news if you’ve been under a rock Prius Online English has been open for a while but I’ve decided to pass up on it since essentially the only cute thing are the lolis and the playable characters are kinda fugly or furry lol. Also they banned like almost every country ever which is good for the certain spammer countries but bad because now some of my worldwide friends can’t play with me.
Update: And so 1 year later Beanfun shuts down bright shadow on August 30, 2012. Let’s hope it stays dead for good this time lol.

So much fail GamepotUSA, SO MUCH FAIL Man this is awful. Why do I feel like Tartaros is headed the same way >_>. I checked Bright Shadow Japan is still functioning so I guess they make enough money from their stupid gacha to vouch for continuous service lol. Speaking of Tartaros:

Let’s first talk about BS’s OH SO BRILLIANT thanksgiving event shall we? Since Gamepot doesn’t specify jack shit on their website I guess I’ll have to do the hard work for them! Obviously they are too busy hiding in the corner and counting sheep to post proper event announcements.

Bright Shadow’s “Official” Epic Fail.
That’s right, we waited 2 days for them to implement a cash shop full of 7 and 30 day items. Nice, Gamepot, very nice. I don’t mind 7 day items from the lottery guy since you get them for free, but paying for temporary items? Are you kidding me lol. Oh speaking of the lottery guy, they’re removing him as of 11/16! So yea no more freebies either. Level cap is still 40, there’s no new classes…and they expect people to spend money? LOL fail. Oh well I’m not upset in the least bit – now I have more time to focus on Pangya and otome games 
Will come back and play more when they actually release more of the game instead of rolling out this half assed product and expecting people to pay for it.
How Bright Shadow experience division works
I decided to check out the Japanese BS wiki in regards to the whole experience dividing since over the weekend partying with someone 14 levels above me gave me 0 exp. See the table below:

So as you can see, ideally it’s good to be within 5 levels of each other. Anymore and it’s just a waste of time. I’m currently level 27 so any of you that are 22 and below or 33 and above are gonna have to either level up or wait for me to level up. 
At this point there’s a few people in the guild who are within my range and I’m sorry I haven’t been playing much. I’m trying to finish the otome game in the corner tonight as well as doing all the Pangya events. I was told that Bright Shadow is going to end open beta today and then officially reopen on the 11th. Hopefully that means no more level cap and new classes so at least it will motivate me to play more ^^;

So yea next time you see annoying brazilians (or other foreign countries 
) spamming everyone and AHUEAHUEAHAUEHEing everywhere, I recommend reporting them to the helpdesk as it appears they are actually listening. Of course if it gets as bad as PangyaBR not only would I stop reporting I’d just quit playing period. Let’s hope it never gets this bad – I hear the trend these days is to generate cash items and spread them like the plague
FFFFFFFUUUUU I want those 3 days of my life back Gamepot.
This is a nice broom right? Kinda cute & all. It would be nicer if….I could use it other than just standing there with it hmm? That’s right, this broom doesn’t SKIN OVER my sword it completely replaces it. In addition it only gives melee attack +24. Great. My sword gives attack +192 btw. What the fuck did I waste all that time for getting the fucking candy, dying and having to undo my death penalty for again? Gamepot also didn’t fucking specify anywhere what the outfits look like and what the stats are and what they do. One of my friends informed me all the skull skins that are ugly as shit give 0 stats as well so completely a waste of time. Thank god I didn’t even bother going for those yet since now I’ve saved myself a weekend of grinding -_-;

BS Halloween event outfit skins are permanent? O_O
I asked on the BS forum if the outfits were 7 day expirations (which seemed like it since they were event items) and someone confirmed that they do not have an expiration date. Holy cow! 
For those curious I found on the Japanese BS Wiki the images of the outfits:
As you can see the female and male outfits. They come with gloves, top, bottom, shoes, bagpack and a skull mask. The mask is facking hideous so I won’t waste my time trying to get it. Additionally to the outfits you can also get skins for your weapon:
You can turn your weapon either into a pumpkin sword or a broom. I like the broom myself…the pumpkins look like you’re about to have a pumpkin shishkabob You need 200 pieces of pumpkin candy PER PIECE of outfit. This event will end on November 11th. I’ll try to organize the dungeon runs daily if I can but remember the limit is 6 people so first come first serve sorry ><;. Hopefully when I hit 25 and make a guild it’ll be easier to organize these kind of parties (and you guys will stop getting guild spam invites lol.)
Bright Shadow Halloween Event
So the BS Halloween event involves you talking to the pumpkin shota:
When you and all of your party speaks to him once, the party leader will then teleport everyone to the instance dungeon where you fight monsters ranging from level 8-20something. THey were so damn large I couldn’t see their HP bars or levels We got our butts kicked multiple times between levels 13-16 but just like with the seal tower the exp was really nice. Bright Shadow Open Beta First Night
The above is just a brief video I took inside the cave. I had recorded one for Thunder Field but it kept screwing up in premiere so I tossed it So far things have been okay. Anyone who accidentally k/sed would always appologize (in English.) I didn’t see any of THAT foreign language spam either. A lot of people complained of lag but I really think it has to do with your video card. I have a 500mb GeForce9800GT and I’ve had pretty much 0 lag. The game ran as it always had. JP kept getting disconnected near the end of the night though, not sure why. 
I hope this doesn’t become a major issue and I start losing people again. I went into the seal tower and did a solo quest but I’d really like to do some party quests as well T_T;
The Nyatan (Meowtan lolol) hats and shoes and stuff are all still there so you can grab one before they (maybe?) go away. They are permanent skins and they give additional stats on top of your normal armor. The lottery guy is still there too. He gives 7 day items but they’re still pretty decent items considering you can do his lottery on a daily basis. Today I got some slutty shirt that reveals breasts but hey it gives me (somehow) more defense. Oh well isn’t that how it always is?
Additionally Gamepot has said that anyone who was either a) in a GM guild (I was in GM Lime fanclub) or b) submitted at least one bug report will be receiving closed beta prizes. Also I turned level 12 before 9PM EST so I should be getting the pumpkin pet. Finally all CB testers will be getting $5 in Gamepot cash (to use on mounts like I mentioned!!) All in all so far the game is looking promising, and I’m enjoying it a lot more than Pangya’s fucktarded box grindfest.

Some notes before the BS Open Beta
So looks like Bright Shadow’s official site has been opened on Saturday (??) There’s no longer the empty teaser page and they now have a better loading forum (although still primitive without any avatars and such.) They already give people the option to buy their cash currency. At the moment the prices are $5=500 pts, $10=1000 pts etc. I’m not really sure how much stuff is supposed to cost though. I’m pretty sure all closed beta testers will receive $5 in gamepot cash. All I can say is….if there’s a mount in the shop or gacha that’s what you use your money for. Forget stupid vanity clothes, pets, weapons whatever. All you ever need in this game is a freaking mount otherwise it’ll take you forever to get from place to place as there are not really any save points or teleporters. Read the rest of this entry
Bright Shadow Open Beta event
Yea this isn’t exactly a warm welcome to open beta players. Basically everyone who gets to level 12 within 5 hours gets a free pumpkin pet. Excuse me but I don’t get home from work until 5:30PM, and the beta starts at 3PM so that means I have 2.5 hours to get to level 12. I guess it’s not impossible if you do the quests/grind but it’s still stupid and unfair in my opinion.
Note: You may use your CB client to access OB on the 26th, so you don’t have to download it again.
Bleh whatever, I might try anyway…is anyone actually gonna play BS once it goes into open beta? If we have enough people I can try making a guild for all of us again to keep in contact. I’d rather go on group hunts and level up together than do stupid pointless quests again 
Edit: Checked the BS Japanese wiki, the pet does nothing except eat your SP. This is actually kinda stupid to have cause it only does harm rather than good! LOL fail anyway.
