Poupee Girl just keeps getting progressively worse. Last night Katherine instated a new rule that no more uploading of any sorts of dolls is allowed. The doll category would be removed and everyone who had anything in that category would have the item removed as well. I didn’t have a lot of things in there but I really liked my manekineko that I had posted in that category. 😦 I had some of my figures in there as well oh well…

The Halloween event was a disappointment, all the contests are targetted towards jewel item buyers, and most of the new events/items that are released are for jewel items only. If that wasn’t enough Katherine implemented a new “search” feature which will give you 10 ribbons for 3 searches per day – obviously searching adds additional ad revenue for the site. Who cares about getting more ribbons though when there’s hardly any ribbon items/events anyway? There are days that I almost forget to dress up my poupee so I just login, take a photo with the same outfit and do other stuff. I remember the days I looked forward to dressing up but now its kinda meh.

I’m trying to hang on I really am. I’ve been with Poupee for a year and a half and I have so much stuff that I’d hate to quit…but my interest in it is slowly falling… 😦

I AM NOT PAYING 250-450 RIBBONS FOR A GRAB BAG WITH AN ITEM THAT I DON’T KNOW THE VISUAL APPEARANCE OF. Geezus man has she gone off the deep end? I realize that we “earn more ribbons” now but 250 ribbons for a grab bag?? I remember some of the grab bags during xmas were around 90-150 ribbons but 250 MINIMUM?? Yea no thanks. I was gonna maybe give in and buy one (since I got 500 ribbons stocked up) but I’d rather just save my money for and item that I KNOW what will look like on me. Sigh what a disappointment. 🙄

Looks like Poupee Girl has finally taken the path of “free 2 play” MMORPG games that make me rage with the firey passion of 1000 suns. At an unknown date in the future, Poupee Girl will be implementing the “jewel system.” The jewel system is basically “cash only” currency. Ribbons will still be used, and you will still be able to obtain them for free, however I have no doubt in my mind that cute and limited items will now all be in jewel currency.  Jewel currency is basically currency you can ONLY buy with cash – and not obtain it any other way. The problem is, most games that have turned to the “free 2 play, pay to get good items” in America have turned into crap. I dunno maybe it works for Japan since they are more vain than us, but I can see a lot of foreign customers being turned off by this move.

Kath also stated that rules regarding ribbon earning will be changed. Maybe she will be more strict regarding what you can upload. Maybe uploading items will only give you 1-2 ribbons instead of like 10-17 like now. All I know is, now is a really good time to upload all your items before this change takes place. Once it does, I have a feeling things will get difficult. If it gets too terrible and all the cute items really do end up being jewel currency only…I may be quitting Poupee Girl =/ I’ve never once paid for ribbons because to me it’s still a cute flash game. Those who want to buy ribbons so they can collect more outfits can do so, but I just enjoy the site by commenting and uploading my clothing. If the incentive to get ribbons is lost, the incentive to upload items and comment will be lost too…therefore killing any interest I have left in the site.

Sigh, I guess all good things eventually come to an end. 😐
