Otome Game Review: 7’sCarlet

Hanamaki Ichiko attends university with her childhood friend Hino who joined a “Okunezato Occult Club”. The club leader posts on a forum for everyone to have an offline meetup at the Okunezato and Hino invites Ichiko to come with him to check it out. Ichiko’s older brother Hanate disappeared a year ago after going to the village so she decides to come along in hopes to find clues on his whereabouts. Little does Ichiko know that this isn’t her first trip to Okunezato as well as the dangers and mysteries surrounding the small mountain town. Once she and Hino arrive at the Furinkan inn, they meet up with the rest of the members. After Ichiko takes a part time job at the inn during her stay,  she starts to recall memories of her childhood. Major spoilers ahead so please skip to my final thoughts to avoid as usual.

Otome Game Review: Period Cube ~Torikago no Amadeus~

Hanamiya Kazuha got hit by a car when she was little which caused brain damage and memory lapses. She’s been able to live her daily life fairly normally despite having gaps in her memories. One day her childhood friend Hiroya tells her that her brother Shiki has been MIA for a few days. The two of them think he might be sucked into an MMO game called Arcadia – on server V – where if you login to the server, your body goes into a coma and your soul is “inside” the game. Hiroya then tells Kazuha to make an alt on her brother’s account and join the fun but…our heroine apparently barely knows how to use a computer let alone play an online MMORPG. On top of it, server V is a PK server full of high level players and somehow Kazuha has access to godly powers that allow her to basically wipe out everything in sight. So now while she’s trying to find her oniichan, every player is out to get her to join their party so they can clear the end game dungeon – the Hakobune – in order to log their soul out of Server V. Unfortunately their time is limited because something called the “Death Cloud” is running around basically wiping all the data off the server. Music Game Review: Uta no Prince-sama ~Music 3~

I guess now that all the fujoshis have moved on to Osomatsu-san, the Broccoli fujobait wagon has lost its fuel and so in a desperate attempt to make money, they decided to try and please their otome fans once more. With this they released UtaPri music 3, which is actually a lot like Music 1 but more Cero A~ish because the randyness of the original UtaPri game has been lost somewhere along the way. Unfortunately for anyone who has played the previous 2 music games, there’s nothing new in store for you so this is just more of the same. More after the jump!

Otome Game Review: Believer!

What better way to end a year than with a D3P kusoge amirite!? For some strange reason despite knowing that every D3P game this year had horrid reviews, I decided to give believer a chance. After all it was a straight VN, art looked decent, story seemed legit and it had some nice voice actors – what could POSSIBLY go wrong? Well sadly the one thing that went wrong is the awful writing which basically ruined the rest of the game. But more on that in my final thoughts! Our story starts when Sonozaki Mia’s mother gave her a book when she was little and then both of her parents died. She was adopted by her childhood friend Omi’s family – but then his parents went missing in action! So now Mia lives with Omi and attends school where she has a harem of dudes who just so happen to be her guardians! Turns out Mia harbors some serious magic powers and the book she was given was her personal spell book to defeat the dark lord!! Somehow though, Mia had no idea about any of this until she gets to school and a bunch of angry NPC monsters attack her. After her man harem fights them off, 4 dudes come down calling themselves the Heavenly Four and say that they need her magic book so their Dark Lord can take over the world! *evil laughter* So now Mia has to take on her job as the mage priestess and band with her man harem guardians to save the world from destruction.

Otome Game Review: I DOLL U

Amane Aika was told early on to become the best idol there ever was by her parents. Aika was too shy though so her oniichan Manaka said he’ll be an idol for her sake. Fast forward some years later, both of her parents now deceased,  it’s the day of Manaka’s idol debut with the idol group Re;Rise. Aika is getting ready to go see her brother’s performance until she suddenly gets a mystery package from him. Inside she finds his clothes and a wig that looks like his hair with a message that says “don’t ask questions, just go impersonate me” Aika is shocked and decides to go to his band dorm house to check on his whereabouts. When she gets there, she runs into one of the members, Itsuki and he says that if she doesn’t do as her brother says, she’ll ruin his idol career. She decides to put on the disguise and act natural around the other members. Unfortunately for her, her brother Manaka was the only sane one in the whole group. The rest of the group members are a bunch of weirdos and it was their leader Manaka (who they call Aika-kun because that was his stage name) who kept them all together. The manager Yonezawa  finds out the truth from Aika and he begs her to take her brother’s place for a bit until he returns…or else his intestines will explode from the stress. Aika is shy and worried about interacting with her absurd new group but decides she’ll try her best until her brother returns.
