Otome Game Review: Moshi, Kono Sekai ni Kamisama ga Iru to Suru Naraba.

Title sounds like a light novel mouthful which means “If there is a god in this world then…” The title itself is pretty ironic at the things that go down in the story but that was probably Rejet’s intention. The story starts when Kurumi Haruka, a lonely high school girl is forced to be part of the school field trip committee with 4 guys. All 5 of them receive letters one day from “themselves” that have a strange “wish” written on it. None of them have any idea what’s going on until a series of strange incidents begin happening around them. To find the true plot of the game, massive spoilers after the jump. If you plan to play this I suggest just skipping to my final thoughts at the bottom. If you do decide to read the spoilers, be warned, this isn’t for the faint of heart. Also warning: lots of text walls. Continue reading “Otome Game Review: Moshi, Kono Sekai ni Kamisama ga Iru to Suru Naraba.”

Otome Game Review: Crimson Empire ~Circumstances to Serve a Noble~

I ragequit this game back in 2008ish because I just couldn’t figure out the battle system…but then 7 years later Quinrose decided to port it to Vita with the battle system removed making it a straight VN. Ever since Quin Rose’s demise (and secret Otomate asset buyout) I figured this would be the first and last Quin Rose game I’ll play so I can go out with a bang! Our story is about Sheila Rozen, who was a child slave sold by her shitty family to a gang of assassins in Gil Katar led by none other than Curtis Nile who we saw in Arabian’s Lost! He then sold her and some of the other girls (including Chezjka who went to Aileen) to royalty to be their bodyguards. Sheila becomes the bodyguard for the 2nd in line prince Edvard and is also the head of the  “maid bodyguard team”. Sheila learned to be a pro fighter thanks to Curtis’s special assassin school but she still has a weakness in which when she gets too excited – her nose bleeds. Her job is to make Edvard the king so she is extremely loyal to him, but she has to fraternize with all the royal dudes in order to gain their support.  Oh and also, Sheila just so happened to have made a promise with the devil to give her soul to him upon her death. The game is basically a look into the day in the life of a Sheila and the people around her.

Guest Review: Norn9 Var Commons

Greetings again, buta-ettes!  Oink if ya hear me! (::deafening grunts split the earth asunder and blot out the sun::).  Today we will be reviewing Norn9 (and unfortunately this is the all ages version, not the R18 version Norn69), and trigger warning here but…it kinda sucked.  I’ll also toss in an overall spoiler warning in here because while I won’t be doing summaries of the routes, I will be discussing plot points in a spoiler way in order to complain about them.

Otome Game Review: Ayakashi Gohan ~Okawari!~

Happy new year everyone, unfortunately my first review of the year is off to a not so great start. (;´・ω・) This is the fandisk to Ayakashi Gohan which I finished recently, but unfortunately it was very disappointing and not what I had in mind when I think of “fandisks” in general. The game takes place after the plot resolution (?) in the first game and focuses on Rin’s senior year of high school and her path to going to college and growing up. Otome Game Review: Ayakashi Gohan ~Oomori!~

Akane Rin’s father died when she was little and so her mother became a prostitute to try to make a living to support them. Rin never understood this because she was too young but due to this she had no friends and a lot of kids/parents spread rumors about her. One day her paternal grandma Sumi took her back to her place where she lives in a village called Momiji that is filled with ayakashi. Rin didn’t really like them and after spending a month there she ended up returning back to her house. 10 years later, her mother died probably from being killed by one of her customers but Rin never knew why. She never cried during the funeral and she’s been living on whatever money her mom left while going to school. One of the ayakashi, Gin, who she met when she was little comes to visit her and asks if she wants to come back and live with him and the other Ayakashi at the village she went to in the past. He said that he’s running a restaurant there and she gets free food as well as a place to live. Rin figures she doesn’t wanna deal with any  burden of her mother’s leftovers and is running out of money for paying bills…so she decides to leave everything behind and join Gin and other ayakashi at Ponpokorin restaurant.
