Dang I haven’t posted a review since that AI slop game (that’s still sloppin’ away) I quit back in May?? Anyway on to Crazy Chain! Our story takes place in a small village of Paral where the 17th Joan of Arc – real name Sofia, is now up for duty to stop the war between 2 countries. Unfortunately compared to all the previous ones, her powers and connection to god is weak, she thinks her “god” is fulla shit, she wants to quit ASAP but she also kicks some serious ass comparable to a knight in shining armor. One day she finds out that if she just gets a husbando and kisses him on the lips, it will rid her of her Joan of Arc powers and she will be relieved of her duties. God is not about to lose his next Joan successor, so he puts some spiritual chains on her – like a shock collar because every time she feels dokidoki for her true love, she will get zapped. ⚡ On top of this, her man will see the chains on her but this just makes it easy for her to tell whether the guy has mutual affection towards her. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Also being a kickass woman, no shock is going to stop her, so she goes off to find a husband but has little success due to her fame. Instead she ends up becoming cupid for other couples. Worry not though, she has picked up a JRPG harem of hot men who would love nothing more than to be her #1 candidate.
Anyway warning, anything below is a spoiler and while there’s no spoiler CGs there’s a lot of text spoilers. Skip to my final thoughts if you want to avoid them! Also please note all screenshots are translated by me this game is NOT LOCALIZED (yet?).
Vardis – Remember Ukyo from Amnesia? Well Otomate thought it would be cool to borrow some elements out of him for this route but also make him flirty like Ikki too. That’s how you get Vardis! Basically Vardis is always flirting with the ladies despite being a priest and luckily Sofia is just his type! He offers to help her find a husbando and also adds himself to the candidate pool. However little does Sofia know that actually he joined her on her journey to kill her because he’s got a literal demon in his blood. So basically his bloodline stems back to this French pedo who was executed for all his pedo crimes. Otomate didn’t wanna go all the way with this back story though, so instead they “changed it a little” and made it so that that dude was just obsessively in love with the first Joan of Arc and just wanted to revive her using children as fodder for his experiments. Sorry Otomate, but once I read that wikipedia article I cannot unsee the pedo and nothing you say or do will change my mind. 💀 Because human lives are short and his experiments haven’t worked, the pedo man decided he will just continue his blood line using the PHILOSOPHER’S STONE to constantly use all of his future offspring as body doubles.
So yea now like every time his kid grows up to be an adult, something will trigger the pedo trigger and that will allow Gilles to basically take over the body until it’s of no use and he transfers himself into the next body etc. With Vardis, his father was one of the victims and when Vardis had a birthday party with all of his kid friends, the dad went batshit, and killed all of them. The mother knew about this and ended up killing the dad on the spot but unfortunately the pedo jumped into Vardis as he was next in line. Unfortunately for him, Vardis has tried to avoid children most of his life to not trigger the awakening, but because Sofia has some Joan of Arc connection in her, it instead awaken’s the pedo’s desires (according to Otomate) anyway. So now Vardis is torn between “I need to kill Joan of Arc” and “I need to kill myself so this pedo cycle is put to an end” and “Damn I just wanna bang Sofia she’s so my type 😭”. The pedo blood actually made all of his offspring be phermone producing dudes who constantly had the ladies falling for them to make sure that they’d find someone to reproduce with because Vardis said he was literally hitting on the nurse the moment he popped out of the womb. 🤣
Anyway because Sofia is so fucking badass, she literally goes into the prison cell where Gilles, who took over Vardis’ body is there, but she manages to talk therapy him out of it (aka fool his dumb ass) to bring back Vardis to his real self. Since Vardis’ body is tainted by pedo blood, the only solution is to move his soul to a new body. Gee where have I heard that before? Luckily he’s been adopted and raised by a pair of biological scientists who hang out at the Dragon Body Tower both trapped in 1 body because of a body hopping experiment gone wrong. It’s all good though, they both are madly in love with each other so it just looks weird when you’re trying to see the male seiyuu attempting to do different “tones” for the girl (Rico) as opposed to his male voice (Rudo). With their bodies combined they go by Ricold (but I don’t wanna call them Rico and LD LOL🤣). Anyway they managed to transfer Vardis into a new body but then accidentally get a cut and some of the blood from the pedo body seeps into their body and now they got 3 PEOPLE IN ONE BODY BOY IT SURE IS CROWDED IN THERE NOW. (￣∇￣;)ハッハッハ
Unfortunately Ricold has insane magic powers so now they gotta fight against Gilles abusing Ricold’s body. Fortunately we have the high bunny the GOD OF PLEASURE on our side and he helps us kick the pedo’s ass back where he came from. After everything is over, Vardis works in the church again while sometimes helping out Ricold with their research to try to get their bodies separated again. He also gives Sofia a pocket watch as a replacement for an engagement ring because apparently that’s what they do over at the Dragon Castle landia. In the bad ends, Gilles (in Ricold’s body) chops off Sofia’s head and when Vardis realizes what happened, he turns into Gilles himself – (not in the pedo way) but basically he starts kidnapping kids to use for his experiments to try and revive Sofia. He eventually gets caught and executed for his crimes too. In the other bad ends Ricold sacrifice themselves but Vardis continues their research and in another bad end Gilles kills Sofia again but then starts crying. Anyway I’m annoyed that Vardis got 2 bad end CGs but only 1 kiss CG WTF. All the other dudes got 2 kiss CGs what is this tragedy!? I demand a fandisk to make up for this nonsense.
Rex de Couraciel – Rex is the wanko boy knight in training whos older brother leads the knights at Exrattle. (Or maybe it’s Axlotl IDK🤣) He loves his oniichan Calme so much and looks up to him a lot to the point that when Sofia asks him to help her find a husband, he immediately tries shipping them together. When Rex was 6 years old, his village was raided by another village that ran out of supplies and decided to attack Rex’s village to steal theirs. Because his village was a peaceful village, they immediately folded and Rex and his younger brother were the only survivors. Eventually his little brother died of starvation since they were small children left alone and Rex almost died too until Calme found and rescued him. Rex was so awed by this that he begged to stay and train with Calme, so Calme’s family adopted him as one of their own and trained him to be a knight. Rex has always been a Joan of Arc fanboy HOWEVER the tables turn once Sofia falls in love with him. Genuinely I think the moment came when she saw him in his lounge wear with glasses cause…mmyea I agree Sofia. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
She openly confesses to him, but when he finds out that he’d strip her of her Joan powers, he starts literally running away from her. Sofia’s like WHY ARE U RUNNING and continues chasing him down until they temporarily call a truce because LO AND BEHOLD ONIISAMA DECIDED TO BURN THE RIVAL TOWN (Regenerate) TO A CRISP BY SUMMONING SUZAKU (the god of war) AS REVENGE FOR THEM EXECUTING HIS WAIFU. During one of the previous wars between Exrattle and Regenerate, a nurse named Marina was helping out soldiers at a church regardless of which army they were from. Calme fell in love with her and they both began working together to help all the soldiers. Just then a stand in for one of the army captains came in and claimed Marina was a witch brainwashing everyone and they arrested and burned her at the stake. Regenerate felt horrible about this once they found out what happened and executed the guy but the damage was done and Calme was out for revenge which he helped get thanks to Casper, a black cat running around with his waifu Libitina (but more on that later.) Anyways, Calme gets his ass beaten so he sacrifices himself to seal away the god of war and we never see him again (but Rex pretends that Calme is ~somewhere out there living his best life~??? 😅).
Anyway nobody cares about Calme anymore and now Rex finally stops running away from Sofia and puts a ring on that finger and asks her to marry him. In the bad end, Rex dies in a battle against Calme, and when Sofia finds her boyfriend beaten to death, she goes into yokumo zenbu mode and tells Calme to hang on to his breeches because she’s about to give him a massive ass beating. Also Rex had one of those funny bad ends where if you drink apple juice instead of water, suddenly Sofia and Rex get really horny and start making out which cause her to lose her powers prematurely and both countries perish in war allowing only for monsters to take over lol. 🤣 It’s actually sad I thought Rex was cute but his route felt too derailed by Calme’s bullshit, and having Rex spend a lot of it trying to ship Calme and Sofia together when Calme had no interest in Sofia to begin with. Also fuck you Calme, you coulda been the hot aniki, but you a scrub. ( ´_ゝ｀)
Cronoll – Cronoll is the resident tsundere machinist man who constantly calls Sofia a fake saintess. Despite this she sees through his wall and always teases him saying he’d be lonely without her company. She even forces him to give her a tour of the city in the common route. 🤣 He finally starts showing his feelings towards her when everyone in town gets amnesia, including Sofia, and he is heartbroken that she may have forgotten their time with him. Despite this she still treats him like he’s important to her which makes him all ➳ ( ˙-˙ )♡”ｽﾞｷｭﾝ. But anyways the truth of the matter is Cronoll is an Au Ra! Or rather he’s part monster because as it turns out, his mom banged a monster in human skin. Apparently the goddess of sadness created a monster out of her tears and after she saw him fighting a knight, she felt sorry for him so she gave him consciousness and a human body. Aaaand this guy ended up becoming the Prime Minister of Exrattle named Durandal.
He ends up there because the daughter of the previous Prime Minister, Beatrice, randomly found him and decided to make take him home lmao. Since she was royalty though she was forced into an arranged marriage. Their secret relationship didn’t last long but they had one last seggs for the road which coincidentally also got her preggo. And so after she got married to the next King, she was forced to have a baby to birth the next heir and once she had the heir she was basically thrown out in shame since I guess her dad found out that she was a baby momma to some monster. Turns out that monster was Cronoll and the heir she gave birth to is the current King Charles – who moonlights around as a bard named Alto (and acting like a walking exposition fairy.) And so when Durandal found out that his girlfriend died of starvation in a cell and that he had a son somewhere, he was on a mission – MONSTER LIVES MATTER. He decided he wanted to create a world where humans and monsters could live amongst each other – and the only way to do that was by transferring people’s memories into monsters and giving them temporary amnesia. Because after all, humans can regain memories or make new ones, but now all the monsters will have those memories and “pretend they are human” so they can live civilized lives amongst everyone!!
Cronoll finds all of this out and tells his monster-daddy that “actually I like the world the way it is now, even if they treated me like an outsider until I got the earring to hide my true (dragon) form”. Durandal will not take no for an answer because like the average terrible game parent, he “knows what’s best for his son” and that means giving everyone amnesia because MONSTER LIVES MATTER. After getting his ass beaten, the dad gives up his remaining life energy to Cronoll and then disappears. Meanwhile the goddess of sadness is like “Screw you guys I’m going home” and retires while she’s at it too. After this Sofia & Cronoll live happily ever after, while Cronoll stops by to keep an eye on his otouto-kun every once in a while. They also travel together and promise to be with each other forever.
Bad ends: Just like with Rex, Sofia kisses Cronoll early on, loses her power and the country gets overrun with monsters. In the real bad end though, basically Durandal’s plan comes true but at the cost of Sofia’s life. He transfers her memories into one of the monster blobs who is unaware that they are not the real Sofia. Despite this, Cronoll is so desperate to have any remains of her in his life, he continues to pretend that she’s normal the way she is. I have one major plot hole that they either missed or I didn’t catch. How the fuck is Alto and Cronoll half bros. It seems like such huge age gap, Beatrice would have had to have him at like age 40?? Or she was like 15 when she had dragon seggs or something because WTF is that age gap between the two brothers is 22 years. (ﾟ⊿ﾟ)
Flatnis – Flatnis is a proud knight from Regenerate, but he falls in love at first sight the moment Sofia beats his ass in a fight. 🤣 He is like the Zenos of this game because all he wants to do is have “passionate” battles with Sofia as much as he wants to have those passionate battles in bed. Even during their battles, he starts talking about their marriage plans and meeting his family. 🤣 Despite living in a technology based town, Flatnis is technologically impaired but he’s really good at forging weapons though and has a personal forgery in his apartment lol. The monsters cause an earthquake which forces Sofia to get stuck and stay at Regenerate instead of her usual Exrattle. In this route Sofia meets the Goddess of Yandere Obsessive Love (well that’s what I call her anyway) named Tris who was basically formed from the obsession Gilles had over Joan of Arc (see Vardis’ route.) Like damn I wanted that pedo out of my head but they had to make him relevant to the plot again. ( ´_ゝ｀)
So sadly most of the route focuses on the witch execution trials and the judge is Knox who’s the head of Regenerate. This made the route a huge drag because it would basically be whiplash between “Fight Flatnis” and “time for another witch trial”. The route also covers the fact that when a saintess uses dark magic, she turns into a witch is what happened to Libitina (but more on that in Lise’s route.) Casper wants to kill Tris because he feels she’s the reason that these saintesses start going crazy and turning into witches and he figures it would break the cycle and save his precious Libitina. Anyway unfortunately Sofia goes back home (but not before confessing her feelings to Flatnis real quick lol), the 2 countries are back at war with each other and once again the fog breaks out. After this happens, while battling, Sofia decides to help Flatnis’ army by using a piece of the witch stone from Libitina to unlock the witch powers and defeat the fog. Unfortunately this turns her part witch and now Knox is like “yeaaaa so we kinda have to execute you now lol.” But because she’s not high on the execution list, he tells her to just chill in his office while he throws Flatnis in a dungeon cause he’s not gonna stand back and watch his waifu get killed.
We now get the Knox lore that actually the true god of obsessive love is Knox, and also happens to be Sofia and Flatnis’ favorite romance novels writer. 🤣 (And on top of this Flatnis’ sister is his editor LOL.) Knox used some girl he calls his daughteroo as a sacrifice so he could obtain a body because they both agreed to create the IDEAL WORLD. He sent her soul in his place to the yandere world so he could obtain a human body vessel. He wanted a world where his daughteroo Tristin could fall in love and live a happy life. After Sofia and Flatnis beat his ass, Tristin’s voice is like “yea actually I didn’t wanna see you be miserable anymore, I wanted you to end this shit already.” He’s been executing witches the whole time to achieve this peaceful world (more on this in God route) and Sofia’s harem will not stand for that shit so the solution is to chop off her diseased witch arm and magically Ricold’s “Spare Body Parts & Co.” of course has a new arm available that gets seamlessly replaced! (This plot device was so annoying come on!!)
Knox retires from being a prosecutor and decides to open Cafe Enchante because that’s what Tris would have wanted him to do. Meanwhile Sofia and Flatnis continue their love battles and after the 61st tie, they take a break at a local hotel but they don’t do anything because he refuses to lay a hand on her until he wins 🤣. And so the next day Sofia just kisses him because she wants to fight him without her godly powers fair and square. By the way the Regenerate soldiers were so cute in this route, I loved them, low key sad they had no sprites lol. Bad Ends: Regenerate and Exrattle continue fighting the battle to the death which means Sofia now has to face a life and death battle with Flatnis. Sofia ends up being the winner after stabbing Flatnis through his heart but as he dies he’s like “I’m so happy to have died fighting you uwu”. In the other bad end, Sofia gets executed as a witch by Knox and burned to a crisp. Flatnis is so depressed he puts her ashes into a small glass vial and makes a necklace out of it to always wear beside him. He then becomes a shut in and lives his whole life obsessed with her ashes in a true yandere fashion. I also want to add that Flatnis was not only amazing in his route he was amazing in all the other routes too. Sometimes it was him to be the one to get the guy to come out of his slump and give man to man advice to them. Dude is seriously the biggest bro in the game. I also low key wonder if he was originally supposed to be some kind of a vampire character? His fangies are bigger than anyone else in the game.
Lise Rene Xana – Lise is Sofia’s childhood friend who thinks he’s the most beautiful man of all and if any other man is called beautiful by Sofia he will flip his shit. He was raised to be her servant of sorts, but he’s physically weak – but makes up for it with his insanely strong magic powers (that go out of control when he panics.) They are childhood friends and a huge reason why none of the other guys in the village hit on her – they already shipped the two of them lol. He is obsessed with Sofia’s every being, but claims he has 0 romantic feelings for her – which was a huge frustration point in this route. I get it though, this dude has been through some serious PTSD. TW: Child abuse. So basically Lise was born in a prison cell because his mom and dad were abducted when the mom was pregnant.
They and a bunch of others were used by Oz, this game’s evil organization, that wanted to create their own saintess and summon their own god. (Gee where have I heard this before?) And so everyone who was captured there was basically turned into a crystal for the summoning and the 2 people they chose to be the ones to summon were Lise and Libitina. Before then the two of them became friends in the prison cells and saw each other as siblings because they both had blonde hair – due to being the next in line to inherit Joan of Arc’s godly powers! And so because Lise was a male, they didn’t realize he was actually a candidate so they did all sorts of sick experiments on him, while he was awake. He even has a huge scar from when they literally vivisectioned him, in the middle of his chest. 😭 When he passed out from the shock of all the pain, they figured he died, so they tossed him into the pile of bodies. Luckily somehow he actually did not die (thanks to God’s powers protecting him), and so he took the opportunity to escape soon as he was conscious through some tunnel that led to the forest close to Sofia’s village – where his real parents were from.
In fact everyone who was kidnapped was from Sofia’s village, including Libitina. Unfortunately since she was the girl, and she wanted to protect Lise, she offered to sacrifice herself to be the one to summon the god. Unlike most of the others though, she actually succeeded and summoned (what looks like) Anubis who she affectionately named Casper. Casper saw her praying to god for someone to save her and was like I MUST SAVE THIS CHILD and decided to be summoned by her. Anyway after running away he got caught in one of Sofia’s bear traps, because at the age of 4 she was already training to be a strong woman with her dad 😆. When she found him she told him she would call him “Lis” (リズ rather than リーゼ) which is a special name to him and he will not let anyone else call him that. She brought him back to her village and another family, the Xanas adopted him as their own son. Anyway Lise was supposed to be Sofia’s “protector” but he’s very weak physically and so he always felt inadequate because Sofia was the one protecting him.
Well as it turns out, Lise is actually the REAL 17th Joan of Arc – or as I call him – JOHN OF ARC. ((´∀｀*))ハッハッハ And so when God of Pure Love (aka our resident annoying God who’s always bugging Sofia in her dreams) found this out, he decided “wait I can use this” and so he made Sofia be a strong bebe and gave her a bit of his powers just good enough to convince others that she was the next Joan of Arc. In reality he was using HER to protect the REAL John of Arc, Lise. This is also why he always called Sofia “my chosen Joan of Arc” because in reality, he cannot “choose” them, but Sofia was specifically chosen by him to be the stand in. Our God is trapped in the core of the earth, Elpis – and one of Casper’s main wishes is to absorb all the gods, including him, so that he can stop the cycle of Saintesses being reborn and then turning into witches and getting executed. Oh and somewhere in between all of this tragic backstory, Lise eventually realizes he has romantic feelings for Sofia and stops cockblocking himself.
Casper wants to then turn the entire world in the void to save Libitina because she got killed trying to protect her village (and Sofia’s village) from that creepy ass scientist from Oz who did all the experiments on her, on Lise and JUST SO HAPPENS to have the magical Philosopher Stone powers that allows him to jump bodies which is why he’s alive so many years later. So in the ending Sofia sacrifices herself Lise can defeat Casper and suddenly 2 years pass. Then magically during the festival of the dead, after Sofia has done her RP walk through a white light and comes out linked to Lise by her magical chain of love plot device. Honestly kind of a MEH ending, I feel like they could have just defeated Casper and called it a day. The 2 year time skip felt weird and unnecessary. At least Libitina got revived because Casper gave up his godly powers (also power of love ending lol) and turned into a regular cat that she reunites with and adopts. Sadly he’s just a cat who will have unrequited love for her for the rest of his 9 lives. In the bonus after story, after defeating Sofia for the first time in sparring, Lise asks her to marry him. God (Irizer) – Irizer is the god of pure love. He was chained to the core of Elpis and trapped there for a thousand years and the one who picked Sofia to be his stand in for the real John of Arc, Lise. One day he finds himself transferred to the human world and in Sofia’s bed. She has to teach him how the human world works including taste and feelings and even walking. She gives him the name Iriser because it’s the French word for iridescent because of the iridescent aura around him (including his rainbow colored eyes.) So here’s his deal…he’s watched 16 Joans of Arc perish before his eyes and got to know all of them…AND FALL IN LOVE WITH ALL OF THEM. So as it turns out, all the gods in this game are not “gods” at all. They are just emotions aka THE FEELS produced by Elpis – which is some overarching being (which I need some major lore on in a fandisk Otomate hint hint). So this entire freaking PMS planet has too many FEELS and in order to not overload on them, it needs to start a cycle of wars to balance things out. So this whole time it would instigate wars and make people want to fight for no reason which is why in some routes the soldiers are almost in a trance of like “Why did I feel the need to fight??”
It then created a sacrifice, Joan of Arc, which would signal the “end” of the wars and then afterwards everyone would calm down and all the feels would chill. Since Joan of Arc’s representative was the god of pure love, aka Irizer, he’s constantly also going through this cycle of falling in love with Joan, watching her die, then having to wait for the next one to be born to start it all over again. Oh wait. What Elpis didn’t get is that all these wars also created an independent emotion on earth that turned into the monsters we fight in the game (Nagekumono). Irize tried to fight against Elpis 1000 years ago but failed and was basically bound to it unlike the other gods who got free reign. Sofia manages to get inside the core of Elpis and there she meets Isaac who explains that they are the prototype for all Joans of Arc after them. She then gets to see Irize’s past echo flashback where he had fallen in love with the first Joan of Arc but kept his feelings to himself because he didn’t feel he deserved it for using her. Luckily for him uh the 17th Joan or Arc ended up being a John of Arc so he didn’t have to fall in love with him 🤣….but it doesn’t matter since he fell for his fake Joan of Arc – Sofia – in the end anyway. What a choroin. 🤣
He said Sofia bullies him and is so much more violent than all the other Joan’s but yolo. Anyway in there Sofia finds out his true plan – to sacrifice himself and become the core of Elpis and create a new world without Gods or Feels that won’t be reliant on a cycle of war. Sofia is like aw hell naw I ain’t letting my boy sacrifice himself. She then goes up to him and is like “bro are you in love with me?” and he’s like “yes unfortunately 😡 lol” and to stop him all the humans stop believing in him which lowers his power output. They start falling together into the core of Elpis but Sofia tells him that if he wants her to live he has to protect them both as she latches on to him. They destroy Elpis and somehow this makes all the feels turn into humans on earth. This keeps everything the same but ends the Joan of Arc War cycle. Whatever man Elpis was a PMSy ass bitch who needed to be put out of her misery. In the good ending, he asks Sofia if she’s fallen in love with him since she went so far and she’s like hmmm….maybe not all the way but here’s a kiss that maybe I will love you in the future LOL OTOMATE WHAT IS THIS.
In the bonus epilogue, Libitina and Casper decide to leave everyone even though she’ll be sad she’s gonna be apart from her otoutoukun Lise. Casper has no idea why he’s still a cat but wants to go back to human form one day to confess his feelings to her. Rico and Rudo finally find a way to rid Vardis of the pedo blood inside him. Cronoll goes on a journey of self discovery and to check if any other monsters are still left. Flatnis keeps hounding Knox to battle practice with him but Knox just wants to retire and open up Cafe Enchante lol. Lise returns to his and Sofia’s village and becomes the village medic. Meanwhile Irize ends up learning about human feelings and working on his magic to give Sofia a bouquet of flowers. Unfortunately despite his multiple love confessions to him Sofia is still refusing to confess that she loves him even though it’s obvious she does. WHY THO??? Otomate hello??? 🙁
I still don’t understand WTF IS ELPIS? What do you mean it’d some high being that just has some PMSy feels and needs to start wars to calm their tits what? And wtf is Isaac? What do you mean Elpis just decided this person will be the prototype for all Joan of Arcs going forward?? OKAY. Harem end – All the guys move into Sofia’s house, play cards, defeat Elpis and then go travelling and getting lost together because Irize can’t read maps 😂 Bad End 1: Elpis absorbs and kills Sofia and then chains Irize down again. Because the chains are now “Sofia”, Irize can’t bring himself to destroy them because he’s in love with her. Bonus pre-order story: Sofia is asked to go to a group date with a friend but everyone calls in late so she ends up practicing with all the guys and Flatnis and Rex volunteer to be “ladies” 😂 😂 😂 This was so good better than any drama CD so I’m really glad I preordered the game digitally.
I cannot speak enough about how much I loved the game. I pretty much love every single love interest, though some more than others. While I generally love all of them I think my personal man ranking is Vardis>Cronoll=Flatnis=God>Lise>Rex. I think it’s mostly because of the way the guys’ personalities meshed with Sofia was my favorite. Lise was sweet but a lot of his route was trauma and Rex was pretty much overshadowed by his brother even though he’s really cute (and I love him in his glasses 🤓). That said the game IS INCOMPLETE. The romance is begging for an after story!! Especially for God!! It just feels like they had already planned a fandisk in advance and that’s why it feels like the endings are lacking some OOMF. Also what the hell Vardis only got 1 kiss CG I sense bias hello!? Not only that but I really want to see an after story for some of the side NPCs like Libitina, Casper and Ricoldo. There is SO much potential that I’m just praying that actually they had planned an FD all along which is why some of the routes feel like something is missing. Generally while I did make a note that a lot of elements reminded me of FFXIV it didn’t make the game any less enjoyable for me.
Actually the biggest enjoyment from the game came from the heroine – Sofia. I just love her so much, she’s so hilarious in the way she responds to some of the guys. The way she’s like “bitch I just confessed to you why are you running!?” was just comedy gold to me. In fact I’m actually in despair knowing that I’ll probably never meet a heroine as good as Sofia ever again. Like man I thought VariBarri, Wand of Fortune, Code Realize, Collar Malice and Trigger kiss was good heroine wise but this is EVEN BETTER. It reminded me a lot of the heroines from Quin Rose games so maybe there’s some influence from that but who knows.
Anyway Otomate please I am begging for a fandisk. I desperately need it. I love so many of these characters and I just need a happily ever after fluff story for all the guys because they are all wonderful. 🥹 I will admit the entire “chain” concept was kinda pointless especially because the whole time Sofia’s like “Ya’ll hear sum’n?” every time the chains zapped her. In fact if anything, they acted more like a “romance eye catch” so she’d confirm like “oh shit damn he likes me too hehe ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)” which actually made it funnier than probably its intended purpose. I do have a couple otome games on my to play list that I got free/bought on sale but I’ll keep my expectations low because at this point I don’t think anything will top Crazy Chain. Hopefully for the localized players out there, someone picks it up and translates it for you all. Hope you all enjoyed my fan translated screenshots in the meantime. 😁
