Please note this review is for the Japanese unlocalized version of the game. The game HAS been picked up by Aksys and will be releasing in 2025. Our heroine, Ammine Mika, decides to study abroad in Italy after finding out that her new step mom hates her. Mika has the power to read people’s true thoughts and see their past just by touching their bare hands with hers. After the school year ends, she decides to go on a trip to Rome with her friend Aida, but instead she gets framed for a murder and ends up being on the run with a bunch of fellow criminals. They spend most of the common route running away from the cops and running away from the secret evil organization C.R.O.W.N. who is so deep into European ties that there’s members who belong to it even in the police and the government itself. So basically, this cult ass underground European organization has been working for hundreds of years and everyone is in cahoots with them. Because of this and the fact that they are also after Mika’s powers, it becomes a constant game of cat and mouse as they continue to be on the run. This unfortunately caused an insanely long and boring common route and finally things got interesting when we got to the individual routes. Anyway, ⚠️spoilers⚠️.
Ash Meyer – Ash is from Baden, Switzerland and is the quiet moody guy who doesn’t say much at first. Every guy in the game has kind of a quirk about them but he’s just…the quiet angry dude. I played his route first which made him even more forgettable because the game focused so much on the overarching main storyline. This leaves very little room for any character development let alone relationship development between him and Mika. They finally start to develop them when they end up as fugitives under a false name filling in the void of a lonely old man who lost his son and his son’s wife. 😅 He admits to having serious uncontrollable anger issues triggered by the sight of blood. Then shit gets really weird when they have to leave the nice old man and instead end up at his old parent’s house…where his mom has gone crazy, thinks he’s her husband, thinks a stuffed bear is her son, meanwhile Ash’s deadbeat dad actually died in an accident.
His dad was a child abuser and wife beater after he got injured in a mining accident which caused Ash to run away from home and live in his own at the age of 15. He almost beat the dad to death for beating his mom and that’s where his anger issues stem from. 😔 Also the revelation that his dad was killed by Genevieve, the “Child Nurse” from C.R.O.W.N. She killed him cause he took money from crown, and he asked her to say it was accident so he could give insurance money to the wife he beat so many years. 😬 The only reason Genevieve revealed all this is she betrayed crown after finding out the leader Hartfield was dead and she only was loyal to him. Before their final battle so to speak the game just shoves in a confession and kiss scene like “otome game btw” and it just didn’t move me at all. I mean it was obvious they both liked each other after the time they spent with Daniel the lonely old man, but I really wish they made the love and confession scene be more of a lead in than a “ let’s make out in case we die 😂”.
Also the fact that we just let Crystal stay with the pedo cult leader after spending so much time trying to save her in the common route was annoying AF. So much time wasted on that crap. Anyway after they beat up the evil butler, Ash goes to jail for whatever crimes they arrested him for ( before the game? After the game? Who even knows). Mika’s crime of running away is just paid off with bail lol. About 2.5 years later he’s released but for some reason Mika has been living with his psycho mom and the mom has gotten no help to treat her delusional disorder like ??? How is this ok. Is the mom gonna be ok that her “husband” is banging another woman or…?? But hey at least Mika improved her motorcycle driving skills 😂😅. (･ัω･ั) Umm yeah too bad it started to get interesting and they just kinda rushed in at the end.
Hamiel Luis – This dude was so god damn annoying from the start of the game. Everyone else at least tried to roll with the situation but no, this dude had to shit in everyone’s cereal bowl to make it known that he’s annoyed at what’s going on and every man for himself here. Needless to say he was on my shit list from the start and having to do his route was actually painful. 💩 Hamiel’s thing is being a swindler and he spends the whole route lying and trolling Mika. Fortunately his lying and acting comes in handy when he basically completely tricks the bad guys to help rescue Mika from the bad guys express. Afterwards he tells her that his mother was Japanese but because he looks more like his gaijin dad his mom abandoned him. She came to Spain on vacation, got preggo from some one night stand, and ended up staying for the baby. However when Hamiel was 3, she packed up her things and left and his father who was already in poor health died from sadness shortly later.
After that he was basically taken into an orphanage and raised there until he was 16 when he decided to become a money launderer. He had so much hate for his mom that he basically targeted Japanese tourist women and they were an easy target for him. This is basically why he was an asshole to Mika the entire game…😅😅. And then they find out that his mom’s been in a coma in Spain for 20 years and nobody’s visited her..umm wtf. How do they let a person be hospitalized for 20 years with nobody claiming responsibility?? Like this lady got into an accident and they couldn’t contact the dad about it?? She had no id? Was she an illegal immigrant status and was undocumented? I mean if she came as a tourist surely she had a tourist visa right?? 😅😅 This whole thing is so weird lol. So then Hamiel asks Mika to touch his mother’s hands and luckily her powers come in handy cause she finally sees what happened. She was forced into an arranged marriage by her father, and the person who she was marrying was just doing it for the family fortune and told her she can cheat all she wants since he’s not interested in her. Turns out she was basically then shot by CROWN members but I guess she didn’t die and just went into vegetable state. So yeah the mom just wanted to go back to Hamiel and his dad but was roped into an arranged marriage with the bad guy cult in this game. 😬
Sorry Hammy but your entire life of hating Japanese people and your mom was a lie. Also turns out her medical care was being paid off by Carlos who had guilt for not being able to get evidence against CROWN while at the party where he watched the mom get shot 20 years earlier. Then a few days later Hamiel gets a call from the hospital where his mother was staying and finds out that she has died after her condition worsened post their visit. The ending got overly dramatic when they were both like “noo I’m gonna sacrifice myself for you!!” It was so overdone and cheesy I checked out once again even though it was getting pretty interesting up until that part.😅 At least we finally found out who Carlos was X his involvement in this route. After they fake their deaths they both use fake passports and run off to start a new life in Japan. Umm sure guys if that works out for you both 😅. Hopefully Mika doesn’t accidentally run into her dad while there 😂.
Gibriel Baltzer – Gib is the oldest in the group at 38 so I’m generally eeehh on this route. Not because I think he’s too old but because I think he’s way too mature for a college age girl. It’s not technically illegal but also I am just not a fan of going after people half your age regardless of whether it’s older or younger. 😅 I do like Gib as a character because he’s always way more reasonable and mature than everyone else in the group, but I just didn’t really want to ship him romantically with Mika. It’s even worse because Sally calls him “dad” as a nickname 🥹. Despite seemingly mature, Gib has a lot of of PTSD baggage after shooting a criminal named Ivon and finding out that person is still alive. Basically Gib wanted to clean up the corrupt cops who kept pardoning criminals and arresting and framing innocent people like Mika. Gib confided in his long time coworker Kilian who he thought he could trust but that asshole ratted him out to the bad cops. But then he felt bad about it and wanted to warn Gib, and so they shot and killed him using Gib’s gun and framed him as a murderer. Gib grabbed his gun and ran so he could try to reveal the truth about the murder but instead all the cops framed him as an armed and dangerous murderer. 😡
Sigh nothing more rage inducing than police corruption, a sight sadly too common in NY Shitty. I was pretty much checked out the moment the stupid heroine started her bullshit speech about how she doesn’t want him out after revenge. No fuck that, revenge on all these corrupt ass cops. 🖕 So then drama ensues cause somewhere along the way he fell for her and she likes him too but he’s all noo I’m not worthy because I’m a window who’s like twice her age. Tbh I agree with him but I guess if they don’t fall in love and kiss this route would go into the bad ending. Then the game throws a surprise that the crazy long haired dude from Hamiel’s route was a revived zombie Ivon by CROWN. He’s also got a yanhomo vibes like Zenos and since he has long hair he’s like a white haired Zenos 😂. Surprising nobody, the corrupt cops have a secret faction that works with CROWN and Mika find out thanks to Caspar who tells her the truth about everything. Mika also finds out that his wife asked for a divorce because they were both busy with work and never had time for each other. However she then got killed by the corrupt cops because they thought she was still his wife. So he blames himself by proxy that had he divorced her earlier they wouldn’t have targeted her like wtf??
It’s not your fault that they killed your wife I’m pretty sure it’s theirs. And not just a regular murder, they called him to a shopping mall saying there’s a terrorist and he shot at the terrorist but it was a setup and somehow he ended up shooting his wife wtf. And on top of this the cops lied and said that she “died in a car accident”. He was all hell bent in revenge which sounds awesome but now he lost the desire cause this otome game forced him to fall in love with some Japanese girl half his age. 🥹 And it’s even more hilarious when they reunite with all the other crew after they catch them making out 😂. Anyway the corrupt police chief Doms admits to being behind all the killing and gets arrested. So Mika drops out of college to uh marry Gib in Germany…well apparently she didn’t realize he intended to marry her when he confessed to her. 😂🥹 But then she agrees like wtf…this is what I mean by terribly rushed endings. Also somehow the crimes of all the other guys get pardoned (??)and everyone starts talking about planning the wedding. 😅 And then the game trolls me thinking their bootleg wedding is the ending but then Ivon Zenos bursts through the church window and abducts Mika, even though they made it seem like he died but I guess you can’t kill the undead. Another revelation comes that Caspar was also part of the corrupt cops and then Gib finally shoots and kills Seymour Zenos Ivon. So uhh everything is resolved now and they do a take 2 of their wedding ceremony with nobody else present ??? Ok then. 😐
Ramie Carriere – Ramie is the younger kid from France and 2 years younger than Mika. He’s basically a pick pocket thief and is incredibly good at it. He’s also really stingy to the point that even if Mika were to sacrifice her share of money he’s like hell yeah free money. He’s pretty immature but not surprising given he’s only 19. When you get into his route he tells Mika that he was abandoned by his parents at birth and was raised in an orphanage. He was named there after a cat one of the teachers used to have 😂. The orphanage got torn down when he was 16 so he just kinda had to steal to survive and live in the derelicts. When he got caught stealing the adults would beat the shit out of him and he still has scars from that time. Unfortunately Ramie’s route pretty much goes south when he’s basically revealed to have massive PTSD from some orphanage abuser who he accidentally meets again. It triggers him so badly that he just ends up finding this guy and killing him. Basically after living on the streets Ramie and the other orphanage kids were taken in by this guy Theodore Durrant (who I think was named after this psycho). Everything was ok at first but then he started using the kids as experimental rats for his drugs.
These drugs would basically turn them into mind controlled slaves and since the kids were all orphans nobody announced for them or looked into the abuse. Eventually everyone but Ramie died from drug overdose. Since Ramie wasn’t the one taking the medicine he survived but instead he was taking a beating from the drugged kids. Eventually he found new experimental rats to use and fed Ramie the drugs so Ramie had episodes of violence he couldn’t remember b except he’d just find new wounds on himself afterwards. Eventually Ramie managed to run away but he constantly had PTSD from all the abuse and had constant nightmares hearing the asshole’s voice. So finally after seeing him again I guess he reached a breaking point and decided to kill him. This is why he’s terrified of touching other people and would frequently slap Mika’s hands away. When he’s like what should I do now and she’s like oh you can just rely on me! Ahh yes because that will definitely fix his schizophrenia 😐. The entire romantic (??) scene that follows just felt so awkward and out of place like I’m not feeling in the mood for romance when this kid just admitted to being mentally ill and murdering his abuser.
Afterwards Ramie says he’s not the one who killed Durrant and he just found his dead body cause turns out the Crown butler guy did it. The Butler reveals that Ramie was Durrant’s favorite so there’s no way he was given the drugs like the other kids. Crown was just mad at Durrant cause they funded his crazy experiments and then he started selling the drugs for profit without their permission. 🙄 Anyway Ramie and the other guys find out the drugs are being produced in a separate lab so they infiltrate it to destroy the remains of it. The Butler tries to stop them so Ramie gives him a literal dose of his own medicine. Or at least he tries to until Mika is like noo stop you can’t do that! Bitch STFU you’re literally ruining my revenge plot here. Anyway he then had this dramatic “ I’m gonna blow myself up with this laboratory!!” Thing but then a few months later he just shows up in front of Mika cause he somehow survived the explosion hiding inside a safe lol 😅. And then it took him a while to find Mika and co. cause they were on the run again. 😅😅. So now instead of being a fugitive with a bunch of criminals she’s a fugitive with some mentally ill abused 19 year old. Actually I still never really understood wtf happened to him with Durrant. If he was never taking the drug wtf was done to him?? Mika couldn’t even really read it through her powers either. I’m so fucking confused.
Camu Einhard – I think his name should be Camus but whatever D3P. Camu is the only one who really stood out to me because he’s the Austrian weeb nerd with no experience with girls lol. 😂 He’s also the only one whose voice I immediately recognized (Tachinbana Shinnosuke). He spends time going to bookstores to buy manga instead of supplies and stutters every time he’s alone with Mika 😅😅. Not just because she’s a woman but because zomg my dream Japanese waifu!!! 😂 He’s also a rich bocchan who was raised by maids and butlers. His father eventually chases him down and demands he return home and take over the estate. He drags them back to his family home in Hallstatt, makes them dress up in fancy clothes and then Camu takes her to his room asking her to help him read some manga kanji that he can’t lol 😅. He basically ran away to manga because he had no friends in school because people were afraid of his very rich and influential father. Camu hated the father cause he basically got rich through corruption. His father was basically a corrupt politician. 🙄
He tried to protest against his father and try to reveal his corruption but every time the dad would just use money and connections to hide everything. And it continues even now where his father is actually joined forces with CROWN and they say they to forgive Camu for everything if the dad hands over Mika to them. 😬 Camu gets pissed and runs away with Mika again and they continue running with the cops constantly chasing them. Meanwhile the public cheers them on as some power couple like Romeo and Juliet.😂 They then get involved with some resistance group who idolized Camu for his bombs. Camu finds out from his dad that CROWN killed his mother by drugging her and capsizing her boat with Camu who miraculously survived but had repressed these memories. The dad lied and said she died from an illness so not to bring up the PTSD he had forgotten. They did it because the dad wouldn’t bend to CROWN’S will so they killed his wife kinda like they killed Gib’s. So now the dad feels like he can’t run away from CROWN because they’ll always find and blackmail him since they’re in cahoots with the police too.
The real plot twist is that in this route Luka, who is just the nerdy cameraman for Rebecca Rosso, the news reporter who sides with Mika….is actually the Footman from CROWN. Wtf he was always helping us in all the other routes!!! So much for consistency. The resistance group just wanted to cause chaos and take revenge on rich ceos and loot stuff instead of stopping CROWN so Camu ends up leaving them. (Weird timing me playing this route with what just happened…) They get mad and call him a traitor and beat him up and also Luka is their leader who is a double agent for CROWN 🤡. The other guys finally find them and save them at the last second cause turns out the dad swapped Camu’s phone which is why they couldn’t get in touch. They partner with Rebecca to reveal that Luka was gonna make all the students suicide bombers without them knowing it. The resistance group realizes they’ve been had and side with Camu instead. Camu and the gang run after Luka spitting out power ranger lines in a very unenthusiastic manner 😂😂. Luka then starts rambling like an incel saying he did it to be famous instead of just being Rebecca’s camera man bitch.😅 He them tried to suicide bomb himself by using the blue print of a bomb that Camu left but that was a blue print for a fake bomb so nothing happened 😂😂😂. Also Rebecca punches him for lying to her. 😎😄
In the ending as usual somehow magically they find out Chancellor was the one behind the murder and Mika’s innocence is now proven 🤪. Writers gave up on the plot and actually the Luka doing stuff against CROWN was apparently a one time thing for this route lol ok then D3P. Oh and the dad’s like uh yeah ok I won’t force anything on you anymore son but yeah I’m still gonna stay in CROWN because why resolve anything in this game. And then Camu’s like uh yeah anyway I’m done playing power rangers weeb so I’m gonna just go take over the family business and uh will you marry me Mika? 😅 Like well there goes the entire character development of his route. Despite the fact that Mika’s future father in law is part of an organization that was after her, she agrees to marry him. 😅🤪 What’s also odd in this route is they didn’t really have Mika peek into Camu’s heart like she did in the other routes and her power was barely used for anything as Camu hogged the spotlight.
Sally Del Testa – Sally is a hacker girl from Italy much similar to Renne from Trails. She’s also a Japan weeb but unlike power rangers manga Camu, she just loves Japanese Harajuku fashion and dresses like it. Her voice actress sounded really familiar to me and when I looked it up she voiced Amu in Shugo Chara…懐かしい😌. Was hoping Sally would be a yuri or bff route but of course it’s just a guy dressing up as a girl due to past trauma with his sister. Sally, real name Giulia, was the older brother to his real twin sister Sally. Also playing this game before it’s localized so sorry if I butchered his name lol. (I will refer to him as Giulia to avoid confusion for this section.) Anyway as Giulia spends more time with Mika his uh hormones kick in and he starts falling in love with her, and things as sleeping in the same bed become embarrassing to him. The final kicker is when the hacker who killed the real Sally sends Giulia a video of her murder. Giulia has a PTSD melt down and runs to his sister’s grave. He then starts rambling that he has to take revenge on Giulia for killing Sally and simultaneously realizes Giulia is him. He then tries to shoot himself and while prying the gun from his hands Mika sees his past.
Turns out he was a former hacker working for CROWN as “the Prophet” and as we know anyone involved with them has their friends or family murdered and blamed on them. And so they staged that his sister got trapped in an elevator and died by having him disable the emergency system in the building she was in and she happened to be in an elevator at the time. So when they finally got her out her body was completely crushed because she was trampled to death by all the adults trying to escape out of the crowded elevator first. The day of Sally’s funeral Giulia had a mental breakdown and disassociated creating a second personality to match that of his dead sister. (Renne is that you?😂) He mentally killed his real personality and completely disassociated into Sally so his parents abandoned him. Mika tells Giulia he can’t die because he’s helped her so much but then the cray bih Child Nurse from CROWN conveniently shows up and slashes him with a box cutter. Wow she has impeccable timing in these routes! She keeps slashing at Mika until Giulia grabs his gun and shoots the knife out of her hands. But then Mika has to be stupid and run in front of the gun and give him a speech about how his sister still lives inside ( his PTSD disassociated personality lol).
Before the yandere nurse can stab them the rest of the gang arrive to help escape. Giulia asks if everyone can still call him Sally and he can still cross dress, cause he’s so used to it, but it’s hard for Mika to see him as a girl anymore 😂. Anyway they try to hack concert master shota but he instead takes a hotel hostage demanding that Giulia and Mika come there or he’ll blow it to smithereens. He even goes as far as forcing them to take an elevator to the top which obviously brings back Giulia’s PTSD. However since Mika is there for moral support he gets back on his feet and they beat the dumb shota, whose name is Julian, at his own game. While he throws a tantrum, Giulia takes over all his computers, disables the bombs and tells the police to get everyone out. Also CROWN disowns him for doing this bullshit instead of catching Mika ( who he didn’t realize CROWN was after cause he was so obsessed with hearing Giulia.) Anyway in the ending he still dresses up like Sally but goes shopping with Mika where he puts on more masculine fashion saying he’ll eventually be too masculine to look like a girl and he’ll slowly go back to being a guy again. Honestly though, he’s 18…. How has he not hit puberty by now?? 🤔😂 Until I checked on the official site I thought he was like 14 or 15 but I guess since Mika is 21 that would be too weird 😅. The route was pretty mild on the romance but honestly it felt more fitting here than in the others where it just felt forced out of nowhere ( looking at you Gib …).
Truth End – If you let Mika take matters into her own hands to save Crystal, you get thrown into the truth route. Turns out Mika’s friend Aida was also involved in CROWN like who the hell isn’t involved in CROWN in this game?? 😠 She set up Mika the entire time to meet up with Hartfield at that restaurant. And of course she did it because her dad owed CROWN for giving him a high political position without knowing it. Aida only went to the same university to spy on Mika and never thought of Mika as a friend from the start. 😬 She wanted to be an actress but being forced to waste time pretending to be Mika’s friend she ruined her opportunity. She hated Mika the whole time internally seething every time they were together 😅. It’s so infuriating that even after this Mika is like noo you’re still my friend and I’m sitting here like oh no fuck you bitch 😂. Despite being a bitch she does help Mika escape along with Christel and now the two are on the run. They eventually reunite with the rest of the gang in that condo where they stayed the first time they escaped.
It’s also revealed that Mika has the blood of the “queen” because her mother and grandmother were from Italy but her mother escaped to Japan. Mika also finds a letter her mother wrote to “her future child” and randomly left it in a closet in this house, which used to be her room. 😅😅😅 Like you could have told her directly but nah let’s leave a vague letter in some locked closet of some abandon shack in Italy. Basically the mom was part of CROWN’s cult and she wasn’t even allowed to love freely. So Mika’s grandma let the mom escape knowing that the mind reading power is passed on to daughters. This is why she didn’t tell Mika about her powers cause she didn’t want her to become the queen in the cult again. The reason she was able to escape is because Hartfield was in love with her grandma and allowed her to let her daughter, Mika’s mom, escape. He had his memories wiped by CROWN so he asked Mika to touch his hands to help him remember right before he was killed. But also apparently only he knew the bomb code to blow up Rome and Chancellor threatens that if Mika doesn’t give him the codes he’ll kill the rest of the gang. Sooo Mika’s brilliant idea of “guess I’ll die” until suddenly Chancellor randomly blacks out. Turns out Chancellor happens to have multiple personalities, one where he’s evil Chancelor and one where he is good Bishop?? 🤪
Apparently when he became Chancellor he went cray and killed his wife/Christel’s mother. *SEVERAL LONG HOURS LATER* They escaped the underground bomb chamber, teamed up with the European detectives and brought the Chancellor down. Also turns out Christel wasn’t anything special and Chancellor only called her special cause he thought she “talked to angels” when she was just talking about her memories with the mom he killed 💀. After they save Rome the Euro detectives want to arrest them again so they run away and end up working for Carlos as a sort of underground crime solving group – The 7 Drops. Also it’s weird how they just end it like this when all the guys still have their unresolved stuff that only happens in their route (Hamiel and his mom, Sally and his sister etc.) Also Aida and Mika are somehow bff’s again despite what happened. 🙄 The worst part is the true route didn’t have a single cg wtf? Really D3P? Also they didn’t even defeat CROWN, they only took down the Chancellor but there’s way more to CROWN because they’ve got connections all over Europe so…this game is basically incomplete lol. At least Bustafellows tied most of their loose ends (except poor Adam) but this game just felt like every ending, including this one, was open ended.
I’m sorry but Bustafellows was just SO much better (and had a way better soundtrack). It could be that I’m not European so it’s not as “relevant” to me and maybe someone who is playing this game from Europe might find it more interesting/relateable (particularly if you are from Italy, Spain or France.) Unfortunately my only experience visiting Europe was Barcelona and Amsterdam so nothing felt “familiar” to me to draw me in. They could have been in a fake made up European town and it would have been the same to me. So because I didn’t have that interest to draw me in, I was basically focusing on the story and characters and those just failed to capture me.
Beginning with the heroine Mika. She’s TOO JAPANESE. What I mean is, that stereotypical whiny ” I can’t do anything, this is bad, we shouldn’t do this it’s bad” got so tiring very quickly. Like you are seriously going to sit there lecturing criminals on the run? Some of the criminals obviously weren’t like career criminals, they just had arrests like being framed or violence against a domestic abuser etc. But some like Hamiel and Ramie were actual career criminals that constantly lied and stole from people and you’re gonna sit there telling them that it’s “bad to speed” ?? 😒 At least Teuta kinda went with the flow of the situation but Mika didn’t really feel like she was proactive until I got to Sally’s route and the Truth End. That’s where she really shined, but unfortunately the damage of the common route had already been done. I personally liked Rebecca Rosso, the news reporter, and tbh I think the game would have benefited way more if she was the heroine instead.
That’s the other problem too. The game took me a month to finish because the common route took me 2 weeks to finish as it was so boring and repetitive. There were 3 times where you had to make decisions to help all the guys “escape” or “steal” and obviously I’m just following a guide here, but without a guide I don’t think I would have passed this crap lol. D3P is notorious for terrible sytems, but this was probably the least terrible one of them. Also in the common route you kind got to know everyone but to be frankly honest, NONE of them appealed to me. I thought Camu was funny with his weeb shtick, but Ash was kinda angry quiet boi, Hamiel was an asshole until you got into his route, Ramie and Sally just felt like immature children and the only one I could relate to was the mature man Gib – whose route was subsequently ruined because I honestly didn’t really want to him to have a romantic relationship with Mika lol. Now that I am on the old side of the “age gap romance”, seeing dudes over 35 falling for girls under 25 is really creepy to me. 🥲Not illegal, but still, no.
And one final thing, I know a few people are hyping this game beacause of the Fire Emblem character designer but I will have you know D3P only hires famous designers for well…the design. What you see inside the game, especially CGs will NOT look the same. In fact a lot of the CGs were so awkward looking to me that sometimes it just took away from the romantic scene. The CG samples on the official site seem ok but somehow when playing the game and seeing them all back to back it just looked so much worse?? A few Japanese Amazon reviews mentioned this too so I know it’s not just me.
Anyway overall unfortunately I did not enjoy the game, so from my perspective I cannot recommend it. The individual routes seemed to get really interesting but then would end abruptly, mostly unresolved. The final truth route also felt unresolved in a “looks like Team Rocket’s blasting off again” kind of way. I think if you are into European scenery/culture maybe you could enjoy the game for those reasons, but the story and characters felt like a let down to me. I think the only routes that were well done were Ash and Sally but even those had some caveats that left me ??? in the end. Honestly if the characters were enjoyable I wouldn’t even care about the art (like all those Vitamin games I played by D3P lol.) I was hoping this game would rekindle my otome game spark, but I think it buried it even further into the ground. 😂 Not a big deal, I have a huge JPRG backlog in store for me and my stream in 2025! Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year as this will probably be my final post for 2024! 🎄
