Otome Game Review: Tokyo Yamanote Boys -Super Mint-

So now that we’re done with the cotton candy aliens from Honey Milk, it’s time for Long Torso, Trap & Non-Rapist Yusa in Super Mint! The virus plot appears to remain the same…until Jesus comes along and kills the vaccine! Boom suddenly the vaccine plot is gone and Super Mint is now left to create a West Side story plotline to keep us entertained so that we don’t think this game is THAT shallow. Sadly, this doesn’t work, so I hope you like our choice of mans this time around or you’ll be bored to tears like I was. Read the rest of this entry

Otome Game Review: Vitamin X to Z

So concluding my Vitamin Tour will be the fandisk for both Vitamin X AND Z! That’s right D3P decided to shove everyone together into one game and throw it on to the PSP! The good news is since both games have already been ported to the PSP this included adjusting some of the stand in pics for X as well as adding new ones in. The game came out this year so the artist has significantly leveled up and so the CGs were quite pleasant to look at. Best part of all – each guy’s route is only 4 chapters and *gasp* NO STUPID EXAMS! Yippie! The story takes place “in the middle” of the scenario of the original X & Z games but the endings then take place AFTER the endings of X&Z. Basically the gang of X go to a winter lodge for a week before new years while the Z gang then go visit the same vacation house in the summer along with GTR, Kagetora & Kamijou + the bears. Both Yuri & Manami are in イケメン heaven as they get to いちゃこら while enjoying a relaxing time in the hotsprings or going wild at the summer festival.

Otome Game Review: Vitamin Z

So continuing from the previous game Vitamin X, our former heroine Minami Yuri decided she wants to teach the fuck out of the entire world so she decides to go traveling. Due to this her position opens up, and a girl who just graduated college and is looking for a job gets an offer from her. This girl’s name is Kitamori Manami and she’s now the new teacher in charge of the reject class at that school. Fortunately for her there’s only 4 idiots this time, the Aho-4 and our favorite B6 (beautiful 6 now  ) guys from the last game are back as teachers to help her out! プッ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ On top of that she has the 3 senseis who form the GTR – Great Teachers R (all their first names start with R) that help her with the crazy principal who looks like a vampire, with his little butt kissing assistant to drive her crazy. If that wasn’t bad she also has 2 twins from the student council to deal with. Manami’s got a lot on her plate, so will she be able to fill in Yuri’s shoes?

Otome Game Review: Tokyo Yamanote Boys -Honey Milk-

I told myself after Vitamin X I’d avoid Rejet games like the plague but since this game is short and fairly simple to go through I figured why not! None of the guys really appeal to me but they have a winning cast of seiyuu which then obviously puts it into the seiyuuge- category along with Crappy Magic & Starry Sky. Unlike Starry Sky, the premise of TYB is very simple. It’s a competition where a high school girl chosen as the “princess” must get cozy with some mans and then pick her destined one. When she & that guy are prince & princess then there’s some legend that they’ll live happily ever after. So yes the game concept is quite shallow but there was definitely things I didn’t expect so beware of spoilers ahead lol. Read the rest of this entry

Otome Game Review: Vitamin X

Well since Hanayoi was a disaster I heard that VX would be easier so I gave it a shot. I agree that it’s definitely easier but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s time consuming and it took me 2-3 days to do a single guy’s route simply because this game has no common route. The chapters for each character are split up based on character so each one has their own distinctive scenario. Combine that with paying attention to certain text lines and then making your way through 12 exams from 5 different subjects…….:;:;:;:;ガ―{´_`゜|||}─ン;:;:;:; Anyway the story is about Minami Yuri, a new school teacher who is assigned to class X full of idiots & rejects. Her goal is to make one of them graduate, particularly the B6 (baka 6). Problem is the B6 would rather hang out in the clubhouse of their rich bocchama leader Tsubasa than bother even coming to class. Time for Yuri to use her tsukkomi powers to get these idiots back on track! Read the rest of this entry

Otome Game Review: Little Aid (PS2 Version)

This isn’t a complete review since I only played the routes that weren’t in the PC version. Please read my PC review first before reading this, thanks! So since the original PC version they’ve added blinking eyes on the characters, made Kyoko look less like a man and added extra scenes for Sawato & Chizuru. Read the rest of this entry

Otome Game Review: Panic Palette

The story is about Itou Aki who lives alone in an apartment and starts her first year in high school. The story takes place in the same school & town as Little Aid so the game reused a lot of the backgrounds and some of the sub characters from there are also back (i.e. Sawato..) One evening while Aki is taking a stroll on the beach she runs into some guy wearing arabian clothes and he claims that she will be his wife because of a mark on her hand. Turns out this guy is an alien prince from another planet. She’s all like ‘Uh no’ so his eyeball sidekick explains to her that if she wants to remove that mark, she needs to collect some color auras from people (i.e. anger, happiness, fear etc.) So now it’s up to Aki (and us) to collect all the colors and use the coffee machine Mariko 2002 to create the special potion to remove the mark. Additionally her pest problem is taken care of by none other than the ORIGINAL Tokunami Touya nuko (who I guess the guy’s soul took over in Kaeru Batake xD!) Read the rest of this entry

Otome Game Review: Asuka! ~Our Seitou High School Baseball Team~

The Japanese slogan as a mouthful so I just translated it into English. This is Madoka Games’ first release – but don’t be fooled, as Madoka Games is actually Mirai Soft’s all ages brand. I’m glad they are thinking beyond the porn for once but I have to admit it really does show that that’s all they think about. This may have been their first all ages release but it felt like it was released by a company that’s never made an otome game before. Anyway the story is very simple. Our heroine Asuka is the manager of her high school’s baseball team who also works part time in a cafe with her older brother Haruto as well as her younger brother Hikaru. The town folk get together and realize if they don’t somehow make their town stand out, everyone will start to leave and their shopping district and community will fall apart. They ask  Haruto to become the coach and guide the high school baseball team to make it to Koshien. Doesn’t help that one of that star players of the team is moving away as well, so now it’s up to Asuka to convince everyone who quit to come back and kick some baseball ass! This isn’t a problem of course since everyone is her childhood friend  Read the rest of this entry
