Otome Game Review: Vitamin X to Z
So concluding my Vitamin Tour will be the fandisk for both Vitamin X AND Z! That’s right D3P decided to shove everyone together into one game and throw it on to the PSP! The good news is since both games have already been ported to the PSP this included adjusting some of the stand in pics for X as well as adding new ones in. The game came out this year so the artist has significantly leveled up and so the CGs were quite pleasant to look at. Best part of all – each guy’s route is only 4 chapters and *gasp* NO STUPID EXAMS! Yippie! The story takes place “in the middle” of the scenario of the original X & Z games but the endings then take place AFTER the endings of X&Z. Basically the gang of X go to a winter lodge for a week before new years while the Z gang then go visit the same vacation house in the summer along with GTR, Kagetora & Kamijou + the bears. Both Yuri & Manami are in イケメン heaven as they get to いちゃこら while enjoying a relaxing time in the hotsprings or going wild at the summer festival.
Otome Game Review: Vitamin Z
So continuing from the previous game Vitamin X, our former heroine Minami Yuri decided she wants to teach the fuck out of the entire world so she decides to go traveling. Due to this her position opens up, and a girl who just graduated college and is looking for a job gets an offer from her. This girl’s name is Kitamori Manami and she’s now the new teacher in charge of the reject class at that school. Fortunately for her there’s only 4 idiots this time, the Aho-4 and our favorite B6 (beautiful 6 now
) guys from the last game are back as teachers to help her out! プッ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ On top of that she has the 3 senseis who form the GTR – Great Teachers R (all their first names start with R) that help her with the crazy principal who looks like a vampire, with his little butt kissing assistant to drive her crazy. If that wasn’t bad she also has 2 twins from the student council to deal with. Manami’s got a lot on her plate, so will she be able to fill in Yuri’s shoes?
Otome Game Review: Tokyo Yamanote Boys -Honey Milk-
I told myself after Vitamin X I’d avoid Rejet games like the plague but since this game is short and fairly simple to go through I figured why not! None of the guys really appeal to me but they have a winning cast of seiyuu which then obviously puts it into the seiyuuge- category along with Crappy Magic & Starry Sky. Unlike Starry Sky, the premise of TYB is very simple. It’s a competition where a high school girl chosen as the “princess” must get cozy with some mans and then pick her destined one. When she & that guy are prince & princess then there’s some legend that they’ll live happily ever after. So yes the game concept is quite shallow but there was definitely things I didn’t expect so beware of spoilers ahead lol. Read the rest of this entry
Otome Game Review: Soshite Kono Sora ni Kirameku Kimi no Uta XXX
So the XXX stands for kiss kiss kiss rather than porn…I don’t think they thought about their naming idea all the way through
So anyway fandisk time! There are some positives over the last game. The CG quality has improved (slightly) and the choices are no longer timed. The cutouts in the dialogue box match the standing ones in the middle now too. Unfortunately there’s only about 24 CGs total and they completely removed the heroine’s voice. Bummer. That means I can’t go multi tasking or I miss half the dialogue ┐(‘~`;)┌ Read the rest of this entry
Otome Game Review: Soshite Kono Sora ni Kirameku Kimi no Uta
I didn’t realize this game got 1 star ratings on Amazon Japan until I was almost done with the first route….and I could definitely agree with everything that was said. But you know me and my thing for playing terrible otome games so I plowed through it anyway!
The story is about a girl named Rumina who is the princess of the Saint Foria space colony (pardon the spelling I’m sure I butchered all these Katakana names.) This colony is located in an enclosed space. Rumina is pretty ignorant being a princess and all and has no idea that the people of her kingdom are suffering – until she runs out of the castle one day to see what the common folk are doing. She then gets to travel the universe and even meet the King of Gaia (aka earth) where she learns that people should not be treated as slaves and actually PAID for their work! (something our current US economy could learn but anyway *cough). So yea since she’s a princess and all, she’s gotta marry some rich dude so the kingdoms can merge and we avoid international intrigue over war and wealth! Read the rest of this entry
Otome Game Review: Hakuoki ~Zuisouroku~
This is the Hakuoki fandisk. Basically it gives you the opportunity to see some “extra scenes” inserted into some parts of the previous game. You also get extra CGs with your man of choice. Additionally you get a chance to get with guys you couldn’t get with in the original game XD. Each route was fairly short and as a completion reward you’d get a deredere letter from the guy to you telling about how much he loves you etc XD Read the rest of this entry
Otome Game Review: Hakuoki ~Shinsengumi Kitan~
So after being incredibly late on the bandwagon, I decided to play Hakuoki (PS2 version). I saw the first season of the anime which helped me understand a bit of what’s going on but I can safely say the game is much better. For one thing, all the guys acknowledge Chizuru as a girl right off the bat so there’s no “gay intonation” crap that the anime pulled out of its ass ( ´_ゝ`). Seriously DEEN this isn’t a BL game why act like its a BL anime? Anyway the story is basically about the rise & fall of the Shinsengumi so without even having to spoil you guys…EVERYBODY DIES \( ^o^)/ Additionally I’d like to call this game ROID RAGE. I mean let’s face it, they all take this “Steroid water” which gives them incredible strength but then destroys their bodies and makes them go insane. It fits perfectly!
With that in mind, more stuff after the jump! Read the rest of this entry
Otome Game Review: Sangoku Rensenki ~Otome no Heihou~
This is basically Fushigi Yuugi x Romance of the Three Kingdoms story. A girl named Yamada Hana (nice generic name!) gets sucked into the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms book and from there she has to help with war strategies in order to bring peace and stop the fighting! That’s great, except I really don’t give a crap about battle tactics! Really let the game decide it for me! I don’t care who wins or loses as long as I get some kissing/confessions at the end. I think I picked the wrong game to play
Spoilers ahead~! Read the rest of this entry
