Otome Game Review: Tokyo Yamanote Boys Dark Cherry Portable
I’ve reviewed the PC game in the past but I decided that I liked it enough to buy the PSP port. This will just be a spoiler free review of the comparison of PC game to PSP. To read the story of the game please see my PC review.
Otome Game Review: Storm Lover NatsuKoi!!
So remember that “beach school trip” thing in Storm Lover Kai? Basically this fandisk is dedicated to “expanding” it to be more than just a 1 time event. This time you spend 3 days with your guy and you get a chance to even start as “friends” and work your way up to lovers. Additionally they FINALLY gave routes to Takashi, Chihiro & the hidden character from this scenario. Unfortunately as with the previous game, it does give you the option to NTR though fortunately it doesn’t give you CGs so it’s not a requirement! ε=\_○ノ イヤッホーゥ! The gang stays at a fancy shmancy time share mansion funded by Yuuto while they have fun in the sun!
Otome Game Review: Storm Lover Kai!!
Our heroine Igarashi Yuuna moves into a new town and transfers to Saint Louis High. As she gets used to her surroundings, she gets to meet some hot dudes at her school. If she successfully stalks them and gets them to confess she’ll get a new boyfriend however she must be careful…if she screws up in their relationship, the guy will dump her or some ho will steal him. It’s up to you to make sure Yuuna’s relationship succeeds within a span of 1 year. Welcome to Tokimeki Memorial D3P Style
Otome Game Review: Vitamin X Detective B6
This time the story puts our Vitamin X cast into an alternate universe where Minami Yuri is the Chief of her detective agency and the B6 are her employees! They get people asking them to solve cases such as finding a cat or seeing if someone’s husband is cheating on his wife. The T6 have taken random jobs around town (such as bartender or barber) but they do help out with various cases along the way. Ultimately it all boils down to a pair of art thieves and something fishy going on with the Mayor in town.
Otome Game Review: Tokyo Yamanote Boys -SWEET JELLY BEANS-
This is the “introduction” fandisk to the 3 TYB fandisks coming this year. The guys are split up into 3 teams: Fresh Ginger, Pure Raspberry and Black Vanilla. This time the first 3 days all 9 of them go on a date with Chihiro and then based on which “team” she choses, she gets to do the activities with the 3 guys from that team. In the end she can pick 1 guy from the winning team. Additionally this disk adds a complete route for our favorite Mr. Vaccine, Kyohei.
Otome Game Review: Dare ni Demo Ura ga Aru -Happy Gift-
So I was looking forward to the DareUra fandisk for a while and I even followed Amedeo’s progress on the game via their blogs and twitters. I may have mistakenly overhyped the game for myself because sadly it did not live up to my expectations. I tried to ignore all the bad reviews for it until I tried for myself but sadly they were right. Anyway more on that in my final thoughts. The story this time starts with a prologue to remind you of the cast from the first game (in case you forgot) and instead they add this flaming okama broadcaster who wants to make either Nanako the “princess”. He then wastes about 4 hours of your life interviewing all the eligible mans and making homo jokes while I almost fell asleep on my couch. Finally you pick either student or teacher route and depending on the choices you can end up with your man of choice. In this disk they added Oda, who was a fat otaku, is now a skinny bishounen otaku (after much plastic surgery) and a yandere chef. Sadly that also means they kicked out the 2 DECENT characters from the first game: Haru & Lee
Sigh what a shame.

Otome Game Review: Tokyo Yamanote Boys -Dark Cherry-
And so we’ve reached the final TYB disk, Dark Cherry. This time our man lineup features Jesus, Shinnosuke & Tetsu, which in my eyes are the best guys of TYB xD. As usual Chihiro goes on dates with them and then picks her man and like with Honey Milk, they bring back the Virus/Vaccine plot which is concluded in this disk. Jump to my final thoughts to avoid spoilers as usual!
Otome Game Review: Tokyo Yamanote Boys -Super Mint-
So now that we’re done with the cotton candy aliens from Honey Milk, it’s time for Long Torso, Trap & Non-Rapist Yusa in Super Mint! The virus plot appears to remain the same…until Jesus comes along and kills the vaccine! Boom suddenly the vaccine plot is gone and Super Mint is now left to create a West Side story plotline to keep us entertained so that we don’t think this game is THAT shallow. Sadly, this doesn’t work, so I hope you like our choice of mans this time around or you’ll be bored to tears like I was. Read the rest of this entry
Otome Game Review: Vitamin X to Z
So concluding my Vitamin Tour will be the fandisk for both Vitamin X AND Z! That’s right D3P decided to shove everyone together into one game and throw it on to the PSP! The good news is since both games have already been ported to the PSP this included adjusting some of the stand in pics for X as well as adding new ones in. The game came out this year so the artist has significantly leveled up and so the CGs were quite pleasant to look at. Best part of all – each guy’s route is only 4 chapters and *gasp* NO STUPID EXAMS! Yippie! The story takes place “in the middle” of the scenario of the original X & Z games but the endings then take place AFTER the endings of X&Z. Basically the gang of X go to a winter lodge for a week before new years while the Z gang then go visit the same vacation house in the summer along with GTR, Kagetora & Kamijou + the bears. Both Yuri & Manami are in イケメン heaven as they get to いちゃこら while enjoying a relaxing time in the hotsprings or going wild at the summer festival.
Otome Game Review: Vitamin Z
So continuing from the previous game Vitamin X, our former heroine Minami Yuri decided she wants to teach the fuck out of the entire world so she decides to go traveling. Due to this her position opens up, and a girl who just graduated college and is looking for a job gets an offer from her. This girl’s name is Kitamori Manami and she’s now the new teacher in charge of the reject class at that school. Fortunately for her there’s only 4 idiots this time, the Aho-4 and our favorite B6 (beautiful 6 now
) guys from the last game are back as teachers to help her out! プッ(※థэథ)∵.*.∵ On top of that she has the 3 senseis who form the GTR – Great Teachers R (all their first names start with R) that help her with the crazy principal who looks like a vampire, with his little butt kissing assistant to drive her crazy. If that wasn’t bad she also has 2 twins from the student council to deal with. Manami’s got a lot on her plate, so will she be able to fill in Yuri’s shoes?
Otome Game Review: Tokyo Yamanote Boys -Honey Milk-
I told myself after Vitamin X I’d avoid Rejet games like the plague but since this game is short and fairly simple to go through I figured why not! None of the guys really appeal to me but they have a winning cast of seiyuu which then obviously puts it into the seiyuuge- category along with Crappy Magic & Starry Sky. Unlike Starry Sky, the premise of TYB is very simple. It’s a competition where a high school girl chosen as the “princess” must get cozy with some mans and then pick her destined one. When she & that guy are prince & princess then there’s some legend that they’ll live happily ever after. So yes the game concept is quite shallow but there was definitely things I didn’t expect so beware of spoilers ahead lol. Read the rest of this entry
Otome Game Review: Vitamin X
Well since Hanayoi was a disaster I heard that VX would be easier so I gave it a shot. I agree that it’s definitely easier but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s time consuming and it took me 2-3 days to do a single guy’s route simply because this game has no common route. The chapters for each character are split up based on character so each one has their own distinctive scenario. Combine that with paying attention to certain text lines and then making your way through 12 exams from 5 different subjects…….:;:;:;:;ガ―{´_`゜|||}─ン;:;:;:; Anyway the story is about Minami Yuri, a new school teacher who is assigned to class X full of idiots & rejects. Her goal is to make one of them graduate, particularly the B6 (baka 6). Problem is the B6 would rather hang out in the clubhouse of their rich bocchama leader Tsubasa than bother even coming to class. Time for Yuri to use her tsukkomi powers to get these idiots back on track! Read the rest of this entry
