Otome Game Review: Okashi na Shima no Peter Pan ~Sweet Never Land~
Wendy Darling is trying to be the perfect daughter so that her mother will finally stop berating her and show her approval. Her mother used to be kind & gentle until her father died and she was forced to return to the workforce. After this the only thing that mattered was money and despite remarrying, she continued her cold hardass attitude. Wendy in the meantime gained 2 step brothers that she became responsible for in addition to being Miss Perfect herself. One day she runs into a shota in town by the name of Peter Pan and at night he bed intrudes into her room telling her he’s taking her to his country, Never Land. Not only that, but he also wants Wendy and her 2 brothers to be judges in a sweets competition that he’s holding. Wendy, John and Michael are flown into Neverland to be judges, but unfortunately unlike Michael, Wendy & John both have traumas regarding sweets and refuse to eat them. Since they are judging the sweets based only on “looks” their judging is false and they continue failing to properly judge the competition. Unless Wendy & her brothers can all successfully agree on a single winner from the bottom of their hearts, they cannot return home.
Otome Game Review: Hakuoki Yuugiroku 2 ~Matsuribayashi to Taishitachi~
A sequel (?) to the first Yuugiroku game Otomate decided to poop out Yuugiroku 2. Unfortunately Kazuki Yone’s been gone for like 2 years so they had to get one of their copy cats to do all the CGs. Sadly this didn’t fare too well so to add salt on to the wound they decided to add a confusing as all hell system to make me flip multiple tables. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Read the rest of this entry
Otome Game Review: Hyakki Yakou ~Kaidan Romance~
And so this is the next game in Quin Rose’s Kaidan Romance series. The game is pretty much similar to Oumagatoki in setting but takes place at a school a few miles away with a different cast. This time our heroine is Tatsuta Ui who is the daughter and heir of a very powerful dragon youkai family. Unfortunately her parents wanted a male heir so now to them she’s just a baby maker until they find an appropriate suitor. Due to this Ui’s been pressured to act like the “proper daughter” being miss perfect, getting good grades and acting like a “princess”. Her parents married for political reasons and most of the time her father ignores her existence so she wasn’t exactly raised with a loving family. This has caused her to basically develop a fake personality but deep down inside she just wants to be a badass. On top of this, she broke a rule by taking a human and turning him into a zombie. For this she has received punishment which causes her to to suffer fevers, on top of the fact that she can’t control her strong fire ability. Read the rest of this entry
Otome Game Review: Confidential Money ~How to Earn $30 Million in 300 Days~
Happy Halloween! Natalie Taylor is your average 17 year old high school girl…in NEW YORK CITY YEAAAA! So since this game takes place in my city, it was a must play on my list. \( ^o^)/ Natalie’s mom LIZ Taylor is a ho who runs around bars and gets with random ikemens. Liz’s bff is a super flaming fashion designer Charles and her father is a rich corporate douchebag who steals money from other companies! Poor Natalie is stuck between 2 relatives neither of who really give a crap about her. Deciding she wants to be more independent, she works many part time jobs but it’s just not enough. She then jumps on a bandwagon to join a group of guys who have a plan to earn $30 million and split between the 6 of them (+7th guy who joins in at a later time.) All the guys in this group have various reasons for why they need the money and they call themselves CM7 ( Confidential Money + 7 people. ) Unfortunately for Natalie, their plan involves stealing money from her douchebag grandpa on the 4th of July.
Otome Game Review: Hakuoki ~Reimeiroku~
Our hero Ibuki Ryunosuke is on the brink of death until he’s found by Serizawa, the current leader of the Shinsengumi (prior to Kondo) who says to come with him. Ryunosuke is so out of it that after eating a riceball from Serizawa he starts hearing his mom’s voices in his head calling him a pathetic loser and that he’s shaming his dead father and ancestors from 1000 years! Ryunosuke decides he values his life so he decides to come along and ends up being Serizawa’s manbitch as he hangs out with some historical bishies.
Otome Game Review: Hakuoki Yuugiroku
Whew 2 reviews in 1 day! So while I was busy with TYB on my PC, I needed something to occupy my commute and since the US release of Hakuoki is upon us, I decided to play Hakuoki Yuugiroku. The story is one day Hijikata and Chizuru overhear Itou saying he lost something and so when they split up to look for it, Chizuru is lucky enough to find it. However when she opens up the mystery box, suddenly everyone goes into chibi mode and now Chizuru (and your dude of choice) have to figure out a way to return back to normal. The challenge is, you must successfully pass a bunch of mini games to get to the bottom of things!
Galge Review: AIR
Our hero Kunisaki Yukito comes to a town to try and earn money with his puppet play. Unfortunately the kids laugh at him and the doll gets blown away somewhere. While he’s looking for it like a bum without any luck until he runs into a blonde haired girl named Misuzu. She demands that he hang out with her because she appears to be bored out of her mind and the only way she gets him to come along is by offering him food because he’s a starving bum. She offers him to stay at her house since she knows he has nowhere to go, and even though he protests, Misuzu says that he’s her friend so it’s okay. The mom isn’t too thrilled but she lets him stay in the shed as long as he watches over Misuzu while she’s at work. As Yukito spends more time in this town, he discovers the past ties with her while looking for a “girl in the sky”. The Ps2 version had Yukito voiced by Midorikawa Hikaru which definitely gave the game a lot more life. Also fortunately unlike Kanon, it actually had automode.Well this is as much spoilers as I’m going to give in the intro so click to read them all….or just skip to my final thoughts!

Otome Game Review: Last Escort ~Kurochou Special Night~
As I mentioned in my last post, this is the appendix disk to the original LE. You’re supposed to be able to transfer all your save data and etc. from the first game. I tried to do this many times but after failing I decided to just start from Minazuki’s route and try to make his and Chihiro’s gifts along the way. Fortunately along the way somehow magically….everything transferred O_O! I was so happy I could cry and to add on to my happiness I ended up winning the 20 million yen jackpot like 8 months in a row /(^o^)\ナンテコッタイ So anyway the only thing that didn’t transfer were my saves but all the Cgs, mails and thank god even gifts transferred. That means the wagashi gifts I made for Minazuki in the first game I didn’t have to remake! Yippie! Read the rest of this entry
Otome Game Review: Last Escort ~Shinya Kurochou Monogatari~
I call February host club month because I’ve decided to duke it out and make my way through all 3 last escorts! ( ゚∀゚)アハハ八八ノヽノヽノヽノ \ / \/ \ The story is about our heroine Akari whose father owns a host club “Gorgeous” that she decides to start attending. Her father ironically isn’t too happy about this but it doesn’t matter because she gets to visit hot mans and blow her life savings to make sure they get the number one host spot! I almost gave up on this game but Koori helped me out at the beginning which motivated me to continue. You have to first run 1 route of just doing part time jobs to make money and then using that money to buy supplies to make presents for all the mans. That means you gotta make sweaters, earrings, bracelets, hats, scarves, 3 course meals and paint pretty pictures. I mean our heroine really is a jack of all trades! Of course unless you have save state, when you make these presents and they fail you will lose the items and you’ll need to buy more. With save state it was very easy so yea unless you play this on an emulator the game is the equivalent of getting spanked with a belt over and over
Once you make all the gifts and you get the “friend” ending, you can then start playing all the guys routes. While you won’t actually gift them every single gift, you do get a cute “I love you” message from each guy when you complete his “set” of gifts so it was a nice reward for all the effort you have to put in. While doing all the mans’ routes you have to then cheat using save state or in game save and win the jackpot lottery. There’s no way to be able to afford the alcohol for the guy twice a month (which comes out to about 3.5 million yen each time) unless you win the lottery. That said, this game’s values are incredibly unrealistic but let’s roll with it!
Otome Game Review: Hakuoki ~Zuisouroku~
This is the Hakuoki fandisk. Basically it gives you the opportunity to see some “extra scenes” inserted into some parts of the previous game. You also get extra CGs with your man of choice. Additionally you get a chance to get with guys you couldn’t get with in the original game XD. Each route was fairly short and as a completion reward you’d get a deredere letter from the guy to you telling about how much he loves you etc XD Read the rest of this entry
Otome Game Review: Hakuoki ~Shinsengumi Kitan~
So after being incredibly late on the bandwagon, I decided to play Hakuoki (PS2 version). I saw the first season of the anime which helped me understand a bit of what’s going on but I can safely say the game is much better. For one thing, all the guys acknowledge Chizuru as a girl right off the bat so there’s no “gay intonation” crap that the anime pulled out of its ass ( ´_ゝ`). Seriously DEEN this isn’t a BL game why act like its a BL anime? Anyway the story is basically about the rise & fall of the Shinsengumi so without even having to spoil you guys…EVERYBODY DIES \( ^o^)/ Additionally I’d like to call this game ROID RAGE. I mean let’s face it, they all take this “Steroid water” which gives them incredible strength but then destroys their bodies and makes them go insane. It fits perfectly!
With that in mind, more stuff after the jump! Read the rest of this entry
Otome Game Review: Sangoku Rensenki ~Otome no Heihou~
This is basically Fushigi Yuugi x Romance of the Three Kingdoms story. A girl named Yamada Hana (nice generic name!) gets sucked into the Romance of the 3 Kingdoms book and from there she has to help with war strategies in order to bring peace and stop the fighting! That’s great, except I really don’t give a crap about battle tactics! Really let the game decide it for me! I don’t care who wins or loses as long as I get some kissing/confessions at the end. I think I picked the wrong game to play
Spoilers ahead~! Read the rest of this entry
