Otome Game Review: Black Wolves Saga -Last Hope-
Because apparently 96 of you voted for this, I decided to finally play Black Wolves Saga. There’s a country of Weblin where humans and furries once lived in peace. The humans let the cats and wolves take lead, and there are other races like rabbits, dogs, mice etc. One day someone from the wolf race went and stabbed someone from the cat race and that’s when shit hit the fan. A war broke out between cats and wolves and just around that time rabies some black plague disease called Zodiva spread and started mass killing everyone. Someone then started a rumor that the plague came from the wolves and then the wolves started getting attacked by humans to “wipe away the disease.” In self defense, the wolves started fighting back (though most of the time beyond their control due to the mad cow disease). Needless to say with plagues and rumors going around, the wolves pretty much got wiped off the face of Weblin – except they didn’t. In fact the remaining wolves have all been secretly living in the woods while Weblin was taken over by the cats. Meanwhile back at the ranch, there’s a rich ojousama named Fiona Galland who is our heroine. She’s just reached her 16th birthday and she spent her entire life living in a tower like Rapunzel, never being allowed to see the outside world. The reason being is because Fiona was born with SPECIAL genes Key Aids and her body called Robeira, so she is incredibly weak that even catching a cold can be deadly. On her 16th birthday they figure that it’s safe for her to leave the nest and see the outside world. Unfortunately by doing so, she gets caught in between the battle of the furries. In other words, welcome to Rejet’s rendition of Animal Farm!
Otome Game Review: Amnesia -Crowd-
When Otomate announced Amnesia Crowd nobody knew what it was about. Everyone thought it was going to be a sequel, a new deeper story for the Amnesia world. I felt something was fishy when the story page listed the exact same story as the original and in my head I thought this was going to be some kind of a remake. Turns out, it’s actually just a 2nd fandisk and may as well be called Amnesia -Even Later-. The suspense section features a time when Mary Sue is stuck somewhere during the first game and your man of choice has to save her. The working section features Mary just working her part time job at Meido no Hitsuji where you play some annoying mini games and interact with chibi versions of the characters. The Love section goes a bit further beyond Later and shows Mary and your dude of choice finally getting married after graduating college. Since Working and Suspense take place in the first game, Mary once again doesn’t talk. (;´∀`)
Otome Game Review: Okashi na Shima no Peter Pan ~Sweet Never Land~
Wendy Darling is trying to be the perfect daughter so that her mother will finally stop berating her and show her approval. Her mother used to be kind & gentle until her father died and she was forced to return to the workforce. After this the only thing that mattered was money and despite remarrying, she continued her cold hardass attitude. Wendy in the meantime gained 2 step brothers that she became responsible for in addition to being Miss Perfect herself. One day she runs into a shota in town by the name of Peter Pan and at night he bed intrudes into her room telling her he’s taking her to his country, Never Land. Not only that, but he also wants Wendy and her 2 brothers to be judges in a sweets competition that he’s holding. Wendy, John and Michael are flown into Neverland to be judges, but unfortunately unlike Michael, Wendy & John both have traumas regarding sweets and refuse to eat them. Since they are judging the sweets based only on “looks” their judging is false and they continue failing to properly judge the competition. Unless Wendy & her brothers can all successfully agree on a single winner from the bottom of their hearts, they cannot return home.
Otome Game Review: Diamond no Kuni no Alice ~Wonderful Wonder World~
Our heroine Alice Liddell finds herself falling down as usual with Peter holding her in his arms. She tries to ask him wtf’s going on but he magically vanishes without saying a word and dumps her into the country of Diamonds. The country of Diamonds major areas are the Castle of Diamonds, The Hatter Mansion, The Train Station and the Graveyard & Art Museum (which are right next to each other.) Alice is now in a new country but unlike her previous move from Heart to Clover, nobody here remembers who she is – except for Nightmare. Suddenly characters like Nightmare and Ace are shotas, Dee & Dum are only in adult form and Vivaldi, Gowland and Pierce are missing in action. Additionally the castle of Diamonds is run by the queen of Diamonds, Crysta Snowpigeon and the new prime minister is now a black rabbit named Sidney Black. Over at the art museum & cemetery area is another mafia with a leader by the name of Jericho Bermuda who is a dodo bird. Alice has to figure out what the hell is going on and at the same time try to convince everyone to like her again. Unfortunately unlike the country of hearts, everyone’s feelings towards her are as cold as a frozen diamond.
Otome Game Review: Omochabako no Kuni no Alice
This is the 2nd Alice series fandisk after joker. The first half features some original stories with the usual cast in Wonderland, Joker inclusive so that means we still have seasons in various places. The 2nd half is a school parody where the cast of Alice is thrown into the Symphonia Magic Academy from QR’s first game Wizard & Master. Alice transfers to the Symphonia Academy because her CHILDHOOD FRIEND Peter wants to go to the same school as her…and Alice is looking to get away from her sister out of jealousy, just like in the original story. Starting with this game, Quin Rose ditches the turn based system to give us a relaxed straight VN gameplay.
Otome Game Review: Joker no Kuni no Alice ~Wonderful Wonder World~
“April Season” has been bestowed on our beloved wonderland. It’s basically Wonderland being stuck in a timeloop that is April 1st aka April Fool’s. Despite being called April Season, all it means is the entire wonderland experiences different seasons based on location. Spring at the heart castle, autumn at the Hatter mansion, Winter at the Clover tower and Summer at the amusement park. This time Alice can’t visit those areas unless the Wonderland season overall matches with the season of that area. Not only that but now there’s an addition of a giant circus run by the Joker in the Door Forest since he’s the “fool” in April Fool’s. Beyond the circus lies the Joker’s prison in which lies the truth to Alice and the world from which she came from. The best part of course Julius and Gowland are back!
Otome Game Review: Arabians Lost ~The Engagement on Desert~
Aileen Olazabal is the daughter in a wealthy Arabian kingdom, but unlike Jasmine, she don’t wanna sit around waiting to marry whoever her parents tell her to. Ok her parents aren’t TOO cruel, they give her an option to marry who she wants – provided that he’s some rich dude. Aileen has no intentions to marry or be the queen of Gilkhatar because she’d rather be some farmer or trader
. Even though some of her husband candidates are dudes she is totally ok with, she just wants to rebel against her family cause she’s a quin rose heroine \( ^o^)/. Aileen then makes a bet with mommy & daddy that if she can earn 10 million gold in 25 days, they will let her do as she pleases. With this, Aileen’s money gathering adventures begin! Please note, this is the PSP remake of the original PC/PS2/DS game.

Otome Game Review: unENDing Bloody Call
So as a last minute impulse buy I ended up getting the Bloody Call limited edition PSP port. I enjoyed the PC game a lot so I figured with the after stories & new CGs, it was like buying the game + fandisk in one! Since my PC game review pretty much covers the plot, I plan to only focus on the new stuff/omakes in this post.
Otome Game Review: Amnesia -Later-
This the fandisk to Amnesia. There’s “New World” which is like another story to the original story where Mary Sue still has no memories. The After Story takes place after she regains her memories in the original game and then there’s other bonuses like Waka World and Girls Party. Additionally you get a chance to reflect on your past journey with Orion.
Otome Game Review: Amnesia
One day you wake up trippin’ balls and find that a shota with horns has crawled into your brain. He calls himself Orion and says that due to some pime taradox he’s ended up in your head and now you have amnesia! The only way for him to get out is to get your memories back. So now our heroine, who I’ve appropriately named Mary (short for Mary Sue – as she doesn’t come with a default name) must go on an Agatha Christie adventure with Orion to get her memories back and figure out who dunnit to make them fly off in the first place. Mary has to face 5 creepers while looking for her memories, but she can’t fend any of them off because she doesn’t talk! That’s right you have to just imagine what she is saying or thinking or hope that Orion’s snarky commentary covers it.
Otome Game Review: Shin Hisui no Shizuku -Hiiro no Kakera 2-
So I left HNK2 for last because I feel like it’s the bastard child of the whole series. The only thing it has going for it is Kazuki Yone is still the artist for it but the characters are different, the seiyuus are different, and the entire Tamayorihime story is twisted in such a weird way that I wonder what they were thinking then they made it. Well they realized the ORIGINAL was a massive failure so actually this is in fact a remake of the Hisui no Shizuku (hence the 真) because apparently they remade all the chars personalities and for some reason kicked off the HNK1 cast off the face of the earth. I’m not about to extend my hiiro marathon and play the original for comparison so you’ll just have to satisfy yourselves with the remake review XD. So this time we have a good girl Suzu (similar to Saya from HNK4). Her mother is the Tamayorihime but she says soon the Ryujin (Dragon God) seal will break and Suzu will be the next in line for the Tamayorihime duties. One rainy night the seal does break and her mother Ayako indeed goes to seal it, sacrificing her life in the process. On top of this, the spirit of the Toyotamahime, who just so happens to be the older sister of the original Tamayorihime (that we never knew) escapes and possesses Suzu’s older sister Mao. So now the village has a half broken seal with demons running around everywhere and Suzu’s gotta train to seal it up. If that wasn’t bad enough, Toyotamahime-Mao comes and tells Suzu that she hated Tamayorihime (Marsha Marsha Marsha!) and wants her to die while fully breaking the seal so she can get the rest of her powers back. Suzu’s like “k sure I’ll die as long as my mans are alive” but Suzu’s childhood friend and guardian Akira won’t be havin’ any of that. Additionally, in HNK2, the guardians are humans and are not gods with inner animal powers. They fight with weapons which they are able to pull out of thin air (lol) if their bond with Suzu is strong enough thanks to the Magatama powers. This also means that if the bond weakens, they will be completely useless bums so Suzu’s got a lot on her plate. With the help of her loli neko guardians Sana & Kana, and manharem (+1 sarcastic token bff chick) she’s got to get her sister back to normal and save Japan! Read the rest of this entry
Otome Game Review: Starry Sky ~After Autumn~
And so we have the Autumn fan disk. The game features “Another Story” for each teacher which basically starts off 5 years after the bad ends of the first game. The “After Story” then starts off from the “good ends” of the game and goes on until past Tsukiko graduating from college and marrying the guy. In addition, there’s a common route which has 5 different endings for the 5 skittles, that were introduced in the PSP game. Skip to my final thoughts to avoid spoilers as usual..
