Mobile Otome Game Introduction: Nijiiro no Oujisama & RenAi Byouin e Youkoso
So I figured since these mobile games are ongoing (and have stupid daily limits of how much you can see) they’re gonna take me too long to write a review for so instead I’m doing a PREVIEW! I stumbled upon Mobage which I thought was restricted to Japanese cell phones only but it looks like they have an unrestricted version for android phones running Android 2.1 or higher. You do not need to register a yahoo japan account as long as you download the app (you need to allow for non market apps to download to your phone) from sp.mbga.jp. Once you launch the app you can just register via app and you will be able to access all their games (well at least the ones available for smart phones – not Japanese feature phones.) Most games are web based so that’s why phones running 2.1 and higher will have flash on them to be able to run them. Some are app based which will require you to download the app to your phone and run it simultaneously with the site.

And then it hit me. Before Pangya SEA closed they had 2 weeks of double exp. Before Europe closed they had 2 weeks of double exp. Before Albatross18 closed they had 2 weeks of double exp. Recently SGI had 2 weeks of double exp and they’ve been flooding people with cash promos:

If they’re not shutting down, certainly they are losing players and probably losing money spending players. Hell I haven’t even spent money on the game since I bought Lucia’s miko outfit in May …and I don’t intend to seeing how I only login to get comets from drop events. My husband can’t even boot up Pangya anymore because the latest patch screwed things up so the 1 person I’d usually play with I can’t even play with anymore. Anyway for those of you who still do play I’d be cautious in giving SGI any money until further notice cause at this point I’m getting some warning signals here.
Deleting my TinierMe Account.
In the next week, I plan to delete my tinierme account. However it would be a waste as I have vocaloid sets for Kaito, Luka and Meiko as well as over 600+ items in my closet that I’d like to give away to someone. I asked on twitter and since TM is so shitty nobody wanted anything….so I figured I’d ask if any of my blog readers wanted any of the items. At this point it’s first come first serve so comment below if you want anything specific….or if you just want me to send you everything (or only male items or only female items, only room items etc.) I plan to chuck the account this weekend so if you want anything speak up or forever hold your peace.

Otome Game Tumblr
Well in order to stop flooding my followers with otome game spam and for a better archive of my playthrough screenshots I’ve created tumblr account. Again this will only be for some gameplay screenshots that I find worth posting and I’ve added a tag cloud so hopefully it’ll be easy to sort by game title. My otome game reviews & everything else will continue to remain here. I hope this makes things easier than trying to sift through my massive twitpic account lol.

So yea Hakuoki & Starry Sky have been picked up by USA publishers. My thoughts? Well I’m jealous that I can’t be working on these projects with them and getting paid for it! 
(not that it would ever happen seeing how I’m on the opposite end of the coast il||li＿|￣|○il||liｶﾞｰﾝ。 ) I’m not really that excited as I don’t think Starry Sky or Hakuoki franchises are ALL THAT GREAT. There’s a lot of better games (Cough TAKUYO cough) but for a foot into the otome market I think they made the right choice. Let’s face it, I still get a shit ton of hits daily on my starry sky in spring post and I get hits for Hakuoki in RUSSIAN. So needless to say, I think both games have a pretty big following despite what anyone may think and it will help earn revenue for both companies so that perhaps one day they can pick up better games for the English market.
Bright Shadow is back from the dead to haunt you one last time.
So without me knowing (or caring) apparently Bright Shadow Japan FINALLY closed its doors in February!
They even had some campaign to give items to people starting new accounts on Gamania’s other games (Divinia & Lucent Heart.) Well not surprising as this game was outdated & crappy and last time I played on the JP servers there was practically nobody on. In the darkness of this closing, Beanfun, which recently picked up Lucent Heart decided to also pick up Bright Shadow which Failpot USA dropped. Supposedly the English Bright Shadow will reopen on July 8th (so very soon actually!) but you have to think about this: The Japanese version of BS is gone, Korean’s been gone for a while…don’t know if the Taiwan one is still running but basically you got a dead game reopening. What does this mean? It means there will probably be no new levels or content updates EXCEPT for the multiple gacha items that Japan had spewed for like 2 years until they finally shut down. Maybe while they’re at it, Beanfun will also revive Fantasy Earth Zero who knows ┐(‘～`；)┌
So unless you just wanna mess around with BS for old times sake, I wouldn’t recommend the English version. You’re essentially playing a zombie game at this point. I’d recommend playing Beanfun’s Lucent Heart (although I hear there’s a BR invasion recently ) Neither of those 2 games appeal to me so I’m just waiting on my closed beta pass for Ragnarok Online 2 Lime Odyssey! ( Actually seeing that the same team who dragged on RO2 the Gate of World is now dragging their asses on Lime Odyssey…I don’t have much hope for this either tbh.. ( ´_ゝ`)).
In other news if you’ve been under a rock Prius Online English has been open for a while but I’ve decided to pass up on it since essentially the only cute thing are the lolis and the playable characters are kinda fugly or furry lol. Also they banned like almost every country ever which is good for the certain spammer countries but bad because now some of my worldwide friends can’t play with me.

Well continuing with the trend of games I blogged about & quit…now looks like ai sp@ce is gonna kick the bucket on June 30th, 2011. Guess a game where you just play gacha & dress up your waifu and play a stupid water shooting game (which is awkward to control) just wasn’t making any money for dowango. Oh well it was a fun game…for about a week lol. The character models were really nice. I would hope they would use the data to turn into some kind of actual online game some day. Oh well for now, so long Ai Sp@ce!
