Broadcast Frustration orz;;

Alright so we got Justin.tv, Ngame.tv and own3d.tv. I’ve used all 3 so far and the conclusion I’ve come up with:

Justin.tv – chat works, video recording works, quality is so so, often has lag/d/c issues when some faggot streams a soccer game, announces to twitter if it feels like it (doesn’t work for me) otherwise a share button.

Ngame.tv - fairly new, often has buffering issues, chat lags some of my friends browsers, no video recording working, servers have had a lot of maintenance/downtime recently, no announcing automatically to twitter but has a share button.

Own3d.tv – no automatic recording, excellent stream quality, java chat that’s very awkward to get to unless you use an MIRC client, no announcing to twitter in any way, no real way of following user for broadcast announcements. Since the chat is java, a lot of Japanese text doesn’t show up either…also it totally died on me while I was broadcasting & writing this post.

So I’ve been jumping back & forth now and I don’t even know what to do. I was on ngame for half a month but they’re just not ready and while own3d quality is great, the inconvenience of the chat is depressing and now my chat room is mostly dead unless I redirect people to the java chat on quake net =_=; So now I’ve temporarily returned to Justin unless one of the other 2 improves or unless Justin has soccer game lag again in which case I’d use one of the other sites as an alternative? I don’t even know what to do anymore. I guess my only advice is, be sure to check the link on the blog (the tv gif) every time to see where I’m broadcasting as that will probably be changing depending on what’s happening with each of these sites….or you can just bookmark all 3 and check them simultaneously xD; Sorry for all the inconvenience, I’m just as frustrated as you guys are!

2 Year Anniversary! (✪ω✪)

Another year has flown by us so let’s take a look back! Read the rest of this entry

My computer blew up.

Well specifically I had a motherboard failure, but basically it’s the same thing. I ordered a replacement from Dell but I think it’s been caught in Dell’s replacement part delay of doom. It’s a total ripoff too ($260 for a new motherboard) and they want to charge me $80 to have some guy come in to replace it if we can’t do it ourselves.

I’m so angry at my lack of knowledge of putting together PCs. I wish I could just buy the right parts and put a computer together but I have no idea what to buy.  I don’t want to spend money on a new computer because other than the mother board, all my other system components work fine. I think my video card is okay, my CD/DVD drive I barely ever use for anything and I have 3 gigs of ram + 500 gig hard drive. I don’t want to just “sell it on ebay”. I think they can still be salvaged…but I don’t know a thing about putting together a computer, or the compatibility of anything.

I’m extremely upset about this. While I can still visit sites like poupee girl from my phone or at work, I can’t play otome games. I can’t play tartaros. I can only login to tartaros from JP’s computer to get my login count but I can’t really play properly from his laptop (I don’t know how he does it.) I thought I would be able to be back up and running by this weekend but now it feels like getting back on to a computer feels further and further away.  I don’t know when I will be back but I guess don’t expect too many updates on this site until then :’(

Some sad news.

I have some sad news. I decided to quit Tartaros and all MMORPGs from now on.

I’m sorry to everyone. :(

Never buying through a 3rd party again.

Since Japan HATES taking my money, I’ve been reduced to buying webmoney from a 3rd party merchant known as Kanetrade. Now I’ve always bought from them without any problems but this past weekend was a nightmare, and it’s not over yet. When I ordered the 1000 yen of webmoney, it never came. I emailed Kanetrade and 24 hours later he sent me my code claiming that he ran out and apologized for the delay. Okay fine. Now come Thursday, I see a finance charge on my credit card.

Turns out Alertpay (the paypal alternative Kanetrade now uses) has charged this transaction as a fucking cash advance and now my credit card hit me with a $5 finance charge. Are you fucking shitting me? I call my credit card raging about this bullshit and all they tell me is to basically call the merchant. I called Alertpay (who I think are in Canada or something) and they sent me an email asking me to give them a screenshot of the finance charge saying it might have been a system glitch. They said they would try to then refund the $5 to me.

It’s not even about the stupid $5 that pisses me off but about this bullshit. I know paypal has its issues too but I’ve never in my 10 years of using paypal ever had any problems. But here I am using Alertshitpay for the 2nd time and this shit happens. :x I’m beyond pissed off. I wasted 1.5 hours of my work day on this stupid shit all because I wanted to buy some fucking webmoney. Fuck this shit. Fuck you MKStyle with your stupid ass refusal to take foreign credit cards, fuck you Kanetarde with you switching to Alert pay and fuck you alert pay with your piece of shit paypal wannabe system.

I’m done. No more spending money on games that refuse to take my credit cards. You wanna failboat your company earnings? Go ahead. You’ve just earned yourself another nice non-paying leecher MKStyle. I’ll report back if I actually get my refund.

Recommend me a keyboard!

Can someone please recommend me a gaming keyboard? I’ve asked friends on twitter and I’ve googled up reviews on newegg and amazon and I’m pretty much getting a mixed bag. While some people are raving about one, others are raging about it. I’d like to get a broader opinion on this before I make my final decision. I’m really looking for something that especially allows me to jam multiple keys at once and something with programmable macros would be nice. My budget is at $100 so I don’t wanna spend above that. Any help is appreciated thanks!

1 Year Anniversary!(ノ´▽`)ノ

Well technically I think I started this blog back in Sept. or Oct. 2008 but because of the stupid DDOS attack to our previous host, the blog was reborn on December 3rd.  A lot has happened in the past year. Playing Pangya Wii, A18 closing, NtreevBR reopening, leaving & coming back to Pangya Japan. Playing other mmos like Megaten, Bright Shadow, and Prius Online. Starting new dressup games like TinierMe and continuing old ones like Poupee. Reviving my interest in otome games was a big change as well. I scanlated a bunch of pangya 4komas which is something I’ve also wanted to do for some time as well.

It’s a shame a lot of the things that had originally been the foundation of this blog have to come to an end. Stuff happens, morons appear and ruin it for everyone. My focus for the next year is mostly just on otome games at this point. I can’t deal with American company incompetence anymore so I don’t really see myself blogging about any US MMOs in the future. Any Japanese MMOs I blog about will be in Japanese, elsewhere, since usually Japanese games give you rewards/incentives for blogging about their games anyway – and it’ll keep the idiots at bay.

Thank you all for being through it with me for all this time. I always love reading everyone’s comments and reactions to updates. Thank you to those for reading but not commenting – your lurking is still appreciated ;) Plus I talked to most of you on twitter or in game anyway. Here’s to another year! (人´∀`)ァリガトネ♪

MMO Game & Company Report Cards!

Need to chanel your rage at an MMO game or company somewhere? Well /gg FTW! has opened up a game and company ratings section on their site. That’s right, now you can take all that rage away from the company’s forums (where it will be deleted and you will be banned anyway) and instead out to the public eye!

I’ve already made an account and I’m making my way flaming shit left & right =DD. /gg ftw indeed!

The end of foreign MMO blogging?

I’ve been thinking for a while but I think I may stop blogging about foreign mmos on this blog. (Foreign of course being Japanese since that’s the only “foreign” language I currently know.) There’s a Japanese game that’s going into closed beta soon that I’ve been looking forward to since back in spring of this year. Recently they opened up an event where if you submit a “fansite”, you could get closed beta keys. What did I do? I submitted my Japanese blog instead.  Why would they want a foreigner blogging about their game if it’s targetted towards a Japanese audience? Additionally wordpress doesn’t allow me to use any kind of javascript so I can’t even post their nifty widgets in my sidebar.

I also thought back to the days of Prius Online. I introduced the game here and then 2 weeks later there’s foreigner bannings and IP blocks because some idiots decided to make it known loud & clear that they couldn’t speak a word of Japanese. So with that, I had to end up quitting myself (before I got caught under the ban hammer and because of the massive lag – possibly due to foreign IP throttling).

I know sites like MMOsite or whatever or ONRPG forums often have these threads where people talk about logging on to the game and how to register and etc. but I definitely got a good amount of hits for prius especially the post abou the IP blocking. Obviously non-english fans want to play, which is fine, but they then also expect the Japanese to serve their lack of Japanese knowledge. It’s kinda like how when on PangyaBR all of us got annoyed at the Brazilians who don’t speak English, but I’m sure the Japanese on these MMOs feel the same way when we come running to them going “HALP I DON’T UNDERSTAND – MONEY PLZ”. In any case, I no longer want to be responsible for creating some kind of assistance for these kind of people to get on these games and ruin them for me.

It’s happened with so many games that I’ve played before that I think it’s about time I put a stop to it. I’m still going to blog about any English mmos that I play (if I have the patience to deal with shitty US MMO companies) but I think my foreign MMO blogging ends here. Again I apologize to my friends who are actually completely innocent of this kind of behavior and who actually do follow rules and play nice. Unfortunately I don’t want to keep passwording this entire blog just to avoid the rifraf that may come here via google trying to find ways to ruin the gaming experience.

In the end, this blog may just end up being an otome game only blog xD At least it will be if GamepotUSA doesn’t stop sucking and actually gives Bright Shadow the updates it needs  I know this decision makes me seem obnoxious, and you’re free to think that but this is my decision and I will stand by it. Thank you for reading.

Party Time (´・ω・`)人(´・ω・`)

hinanobdayJust in time this year I picked up cake hats for all my Pangya characters :D Thanks everyone who already wished me a happy bday on twitter. Going to see Katori Shingo from SMAP performing in NYC today. (o・ω・o)ノ

Haha what else is new.

ahuahuahuahuThat was basically overnight. All the spam pretty much hit this post, why am I not surprised. Oh well eat shit Brazil :D Your spamming isn’t gonna work on wordpress! ahuahuahuehaueaheuaheua. Why don’t you go back to hacking cookie items on NtreevBR kthxbye.

P.S. LOL.

Comment Updates

asukaJust letting everyone know that I’ve set comments to automatically close on posts older than 3 months. The reason I did this is because I’m tired of getting spam on those posts of “where can I download xyz“. I already have this written in my about page but I will repeat myself one more time, any comments asking for download links will be deleted. I’m not a download site, if you need to find downloads, use google and find download sites, don’t come here asking me to be your torrent tracker.

This is a review blog and a personal game diary – so please stop annoying me and have a spiffy day! ( ̄Σ ̄;)
