Tartaros Online Japan Announces End of Service
Welp not that I didn’t know it was coming but…

Game’s shutting down on February 25, 2012 but at this point anyone playing is probably just trying to catch up levels to see the final depressing scenario. Looks like the game is going to pretty much die along with all the other characters leaving things unresolved. What a shame this really was a good game and while I did feel this coming, I hoped in the back of my head that they’d bring out something new and prove me wrong. Sadly this was not the case. The least they could do is make the exp like 100x or something to let people watch the final scenario bits sheesh 2x is cheap lol.
I never did get to see the last chapter of the scenario except vaguely from a video from the Tartaros Taiwan server but pretty much a lot of characters ended up dying so it wasn’t a happy end anyway. (´・ω・｀) Also in case you didn’t hear Tinierme is shutting down as well but lol that crap shoulda been shut down years ago

Edit: They announced that from December 13~ closure they will make it 30x exp and they are considering posting the entire scenario from beginning to end in video form. I kinda wanna reinstall the client and try to level up to see the last few scenarios but I’m not sure if I can login as I’ve had activeX issues the entire time (；´Д｀). Turns out it’s a gaijin block – I tried loading the site through a Japanese proxy and loaded totally fine. Lol Fuck You MK this is what you get for blocking people who actually spent money on your shitty game. Hoping they will post the final scenario online!
Retiring from Tartaros
While I wanted to try and level up to see the scenario, MK has forced me into an early retirement. As you can see from the image above, nothing loads. The website is extremely slow and it’s clear they are no longer giving priority to the Tartaros servers. When I try logging in, I just get a blank page in IE, and using google chrome, it gives me something like this so the button to even START the game doesn’t load. Clearly they are trying to make more people quit the game (despite having a huge level up event today…) so that way when it’s time to shut down service, there aren’t as many angry players since most of them will have quit.
With this in mind, I’ve uninstalled the game from my computer and I will be taking down the leveling guide from this blog. It’s been a good 2 and a half years but poor management has sadly driven this game into the ground. I still have my tartaros screenshot album up on webshots for anyone who wants to see some nostalgia. If by some miracle the game gets picked up by another publisher or they actually decide to do something to revive it I’ll post an update…but at this point all signs point to the MMO graveyard.
After Tartaros I think I will be taking a long break from MMO games in general. I’m just too occupied with otome gaming right now and thanks to my arm condition I haven’t really been motivated to start anything new. Most MMOs nowdays are either “TOO” cute , too grindy or too realistic graphics for my likings. Thanks everyone for all the good times with this game, maybe we’ll have a chance to enjoy another game like this in the near future.
Tartaros Taiwan Announces End of Service
Well I had a feeling Tartaros was coming to an end, and not just scenario wise but with Tartaros Taiwan shutting down on December 31st, looks like my suspicions were correct. In the last few months there’s been a lack of players on the servers, the events and items were recycled or mediocre. The staff made it so the game was extremely annoying to play forcing people to quit (though makes me wonder if that was intentional.)
Either way I hope before Japan Tartaros shuts down they at least increase the exp. I still want to see the rest of the scenario but if it shuts down on 12/31 in Japan as well, at 1x I will never be able to reach level 75 or 76 lol. If any news about Tartaros Japan shows up I’ll post here but it’s been a nice ride. I’ll miss Cromodo when the game closes ;_;.
The State of Tartaros
So for those who didn’t know, since about August of last year I injured my arms and I’ve had strained muscles ever since. I tried to go to a doctor to correct this problem but it didn’t help that much. At least it helped a BIT but the pain has returned with a vengeance last month. Due to this I can no longer play Tartaros. I am not permanently retiring, but I need to stop as long as necessary because playing puts a lot of stress on the muscles that I injured. This of course includes computer typing as well but typing a few words every few minutes here & there isn’t the same as pressing the same 4 buttons over & over for 1-2 hours at a time. It’s my own fault for sitting on my ass all day and petrifying my muscles but now I need to take care of myself so it doesn’t get to the point where I lose feeling in my arms permanently…as this is irreversible.
Tartaros itself has been going downhill. With the staff nerfing the game left & right and nerfing already weak characters a lot of people are quitting. I can never find public parties anymore (though I’ve pretty much given up on them anyway…). Stuff in the market’s overpriced because they lowered the drop rate out of cash boxes. Events are repetitive or give really crappy items that aren’t worth bothering with. New maps & challenges have become so difficult that you pretty much need a +15 weapon or need to be 5 levels above to be able to do it.
I remember when every channel would be Green or Yellow or even Red…now even on Tartaros day, only maybe ch. 1 and 3 will be green or orange while the rest continue to remain blue. Reading 2ch people are saying all their Nagi using guildmates have even moved to other games. I don’t blame them honestly…after they nerfed Aerlot I am completely demotivated to level him up. Thanks to my arm pain, Tartaros leveling went from being fun to just being a chore. (´･ω･`；)
Anyway I hope the game can improve, I hope that Tartaros can go back to being fun like it was 2 years ago and I hope my arms heal…but until then I’ll be taking a break from this game. This also includes me taking a break from posting macros. Actually this is a permanent decision I have made for this blog. Thanks for reading if you got this far!
Tartaros Phase 2 Impressions
Ok so because I had a ton of guild points left I managed to exchange enough books to try out phases for 5 characters & see impressions from friends, so here are my final thoughts.
Cromodo:
- Glacier Master’s Ice Arrow Ex doesn’t chase the enemy and can’t even kill the enemy directly in front of you. Complete garbage.
- Flare Master loses Alphonse so no more meat shield for Cromodo.
- Ice Dust now has HP and it’s so soft & squishy that it dies so damn fast there’s practically no point in using it. Additionally it also eats up heals from characters like Nagi or Aerlot so instead of saving Cromodo, it makes it easier for him to die with the damn ice cubes.
- Inferno & that Fire thing Ex are pretty awesome. They have ridiculous crit rates but I have a feeling those will be adjusted cause everyone’s complaining about them being too high. STFU no all of us have level +15 weapons ٩(╬ʘ益ʘ╬)۶
- Cromodo loses his Ice JK if you become flare master. Why. He has it as an elementalist & Glacier Master so what the fck?
Tartaros February Macros
Phew almost missed them completely.
Ruko & Elpin have become such a canon yuri pair I am disappoint. Also they’re clearly making Aerlot seem gay and making Soma seem as shotafied as ever (even though we’ve clearly seen that he’s not actually a shota….sigh). I’ll have the March macros up soon.
Disappointing that they did nothing about Ruko’s birthday except add the stupid voice macro meh.

Well Tartaros got on the bandwagon too and posted everyone’s bdays along with horoscopes for their signs. I find it hilarious cause Cromodo’s bday is 1 day before my husband’s and my bday is 2 days after Ilishia’s クロたんは俺の嫁(๑´ლ`๑)♡

Tartaros 2 Year Anniversary
Welp looks like Tartaros has hit 2 years. I remember quitting and coming back last year for the 1 year anniversary. I guess no matter how grindy this game gets I still love it lol. (Even though lately I’ve only been leveling up my Cromodo and Ruko x3). Lots of upcoming events, which I hope are decent since the Fate/Zero collab is rather lame. Thanks for a great 2 years!
Tartaros December Macros
I think they’re gonna change them after Xmas so I decided I better hurry and record them.
Ahh it’s gotten more grindy than before but I just love my characters (well the 5 I care about…) that I just can’t quit playing no matter how much they nerf the game and make stuff annoying. (´･ω･`；) Can’t say I feel the same way about Pangya 
Hopefully we’ll get a REAL christmas event this week instead of 1000 hole bullshit that’s going on now （ಠ_ಠ）.
Tartaros November Macros & System Updates
Wanted to upload these before they change next week. There’s been a couple system updates in case you haven’t been around:
- 最上級 items no longer drop anywhere on any map. They must be crafted. Only 上級 items drop now, same goes for challenges.
- Crafting has been remade and now there’s less specific materials required, and most crafting items require challenge boss drop items (核心)
- The challenges that involve you making a book (Tesbell, 飛龍 and レギン) now drop both weapons & armor that aren’t upgradeable/tradeable but give really high defense/attack etc. The respectable levels are 27, 48 and 57.
- There’s an inventory dedicated to quest items only now.
- Stuff doesn’t stack properly, plz fix it MK.
- Stones like ベネフィス and ミリティス that you make tioses out of no longer drop from the boss. They can only be obtained by breaking down weapons & armor and getting a box which will gives you either one of those stones or stones like dodge/antiknockback/hp etc.
- Challenge levels have been adjusted slightly (need to be 34 to do tesbell etc.)
- Caliber experience tables have been updated and you no longer have to spam N maps. Expert gives decent exp but I haven’t leveled up my Aerlot high enough to test this hypothesis although according to 2ch, Beavers & Dragons on Ex give the best experience there.
I think that’s about it. Nothing much has been going on, and there haven’t been any drop events so I haven’t been to motivated to play. I do want to get my Ruko up to 70 soon though as she is close to 69 already.
